The late Joe Strummer was born on this day 1952. Singer/guitarist of my favourite band The Clash he’s been a big influence on me both musically and socially. I’ve painted him twice. Will probably paint him again.

We had a brilliant trip to see @kneecap32 at Crystal Palace at the weekend. Kneecap were fantastic as expected. Loved @marywallopers and also enjoyed sets from @gurriersband and @biig_piig but sadly missed the earlier acts.
The trip also included delicious vegan Persian food at @persepolis_peckham and @ronspeckham both highly recommended.
Also took the opportunity to sample the Guiness at @skehansfreehouse for the first time too, again, highly recommended!

Had a little trip out to London last week.
First stop was the Not My Bag exhibition on Holloway Road which #4 @piaxart_ was part of with her fellow year 2 CSM students.
Loved seeing all their work, can’t wait to see what they do next.

Today is International Nurses day, where would we be without the dedicated workers of the NHS?!!
Here are two portraits I painted as part of the NHS Portraits For Heroes project during the pandemic. On the left is my wife Jane and on the right is my daughter’s best friend Maddie. There was no furlough or working from home for them and their colleagues!

Sid Vicious was born on this day in 1957. Second bass player for Sex Pistols he’s one of the most enduring icons of punk.
This is the portrait I painted for my ‘Teenage Kicks’ exhibition last year. It’s still available in my Etsy store as are prints and mugs. Go check it out, link in my bio!

The legendary US actor Steve McQueen, ‘The King Of Cool’, was born on this day 24th March 1930. He’s probably best known today for his roles in The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), Bullit (1968), Papillon (1973), and The Towering Inferno (1974).
This is one of my earlier portraits painted back in January 2021 based on his role in The Sand Pebbles (1966) its still available in my Etsy store, link in bio.
