Spotted this stand alone tree on the horizon as the sun was going down. Had my 600mm lens on and shot this handheld. Printed this on A3 paper. Looks awesome in person.

While most are sleeping, I’m just doing what I most frequently do at this time of night. Writing, painting, thinking, enjoying the silence, playing guitar, enjoying the fact no one is getting in touch or needing anything. And on this particular occasion I felt the overwhelming urge to take a few self portraits. I’m now posting this at 4:44am.
My analogue desk is usually tidier than this, but there were too many textures to miss.
I really wanted to set up lights to shoot it properly but I also wanted to smoke a pipe and genuinely do some writing while my camera snapped away.
I journal every night, I find the time, and the early hours while the normals sleep is when I am most creative.

Probably should rest though. I’ve got to do normal things tomorrow.

Not posted in a while and have something of a backlog of shots. These however are from the weekend. Car show at the local @thebeardedbrewery
Always great when there’s an opportunity for a fun edit on a shot, and the sky was lending itself perfectly to the vibe. Check out that yellow Mustang though!! Ooof!
More can be seen on my website.

Going through some old photos that drastically need sorting.
Found this little bee straddling a flower. Look at its little legs. Must have papped her before she got a good foothold. Not long now until we see these little flying fuzz balls out and about.

An old favourite of mine. This shot was part of a timelapse. Each exposure was at least 15 seconds long. She sat pretty still for those 15 seconds. Beautiful.

Damsels not in distress.
Azure Damselflies and candy floss!
Beautiful little walk in the north with the parents. Stopped by a lake and got these little shots.

All photographers know there is a very small window where you either get the shot or don’t, where the light and conditions are there for the taking, but you have to act fast. Trying to enjoy the moment while messing with your gear hoping you don’t miss the shot and don’t miss the moment.
This was a time in my life where I didn’t miss the shot, and I didn’t miss the moment. Everything aligned that day. One of my favourite days on this earth.
When you are out shooting pictures, remember to look up from the lens and soak it in. These moments are precious and rare.
