I designed these grillz to commemorate my doctorate degree in Africology and African American Studies. We had two weeks to create these and it wouldn’t be possible without the team over at @globalgoldgrillz

This set is inspired by digital artwork from @wuh.ey we reposted last year.

The symbols are a mixture of mdw ntr, adrinkra, west African masks, and black power language and imagery.

Akoma - love and goodwill

Sankofa - go back and fetch

Gye Nyame - God’s Omnipotence

Dweninnimen - Stength & Humility

Denkyem- Adaptability and Cleverness

Duafe - Feminine Consideration

Ankh - Key of Life

Adinkrahene - Authority, Leadership, and Charisma

NNN - Primordial Waters taken in Temple University by @richgrillz

A woman paused before a mirror. “Whose eyes have I been seeing myself through?” she asked.

“I show what stands before me,” the mirror replied. “But who you become is not mine to decide.”

She stepped beyond the frame, carrying her own vision into the world. Her reflection followed her lead.
