I’ve been thinking a lot lately about connection.

The through line in the stories of so many of us is connection —
➤ connection to who we are as individuals,
➤ to our work and purpose,
➤ to others, and
➤ to the meaning we assign to money, impact, and identity.

When I reflect on the work I do, the projects I’ve built, and the incredible people I’ve met, I see how deeply connected it all is. And stepping into a leadership role with Invest for Better feels like a natural, mission-aligned next step.

Invest for Better is a nonprofit financial wellness community helping women become more confident, values-aligned investors. At the center of the experience are circles 🟣 — small, peer-led groups where women come together to learn, grow, and take meaningful action with their money.

In 2023 I joined my first circle, and now I’m co-leading one.

Starting this September, I’ll be co-hosting a closed cohort with the amazing Felicia Caldwell Gopaul, CFP® for an intimate group of women ready to deepen their relationship with money and lead from a place of aligned wealth and shared wisdom.

This isn’t about chasing the biggest returns.

It’s about stepping into our power.
It’s about using our capital to build the world we actually want to live in.

Hey, Instagram!👋🏼 It's been a minute!

Allow me to reintroduce myself...*clears throat*

Eva Forde is my name and conversations around money, living a fulfilling life on your own terms, and impact are my game. 🤸

Back in the early 2000s, I made a financial decision that would change the trajectory of my life when I borrowed and then promptly lost $10K - money I still had to pay back with interest - while living in Jamaica with a weak dollar. 💸

It struck me that as a social worker, I could figure out how to address every issue except money.🤔 No matter what I did it seemed to remain a mystery and caused me a lot of pain.

Being introduced to the idea of a money/wealth mindset changed the game for me, and when I discovered that much of social work training was disempowering around money, I vowed to learn as much as I could and "share the wealth" of financial empowerment with my fellow social workers.💰

It's been over a decade since I started Rich Social Worker - first as a blog and later as a YouTube channel and coaching practice - where I talk about the money, mindset, and motivational practices that help social workers live their richest lives.

My latest project, the Social Work Wealth Conference, brings together business, financial, and social work minds, to discuss topics of money, business, career, and mindset to elevate the wealth consciousness of individual social workers and the profession as a whole.

My favorite thing in the world is getting to connect and work with dynamic, generous, and impact-driven leaders who are also passionate about change-making and leading that change with Love.

While there's no way to tell you everything about me, here are some additional tidbits you might be surprised to know:

👉🏽I was raised in the south between Alabama & Florida
👉🏽I'm the "baby" and have 3 older brothers.
👉🏽I lived in Taiwan for a year and speak some Mandarin.
👉🏽I have a daughter who has a son (but please don't call me grandma)
👉🏽Ted Lasso, Ikea, and NYC are my jam

I'm glad you're here! And I have every intention of showing up more on social media so we can get to know each other and connect.
