We had an amazing experience yesterday on our way home from Poulsbo. We had just rounded the channel marker buoy coming out of Rich Passage with a heading for the north side of Blake Island when I spotted a huge dorsal fin way off in the distance. We immediately killed the motor and shut off the depth sounder and expected to just enjoy the rare experience of seeing a pod of Orcas from a distance with binoculars. After several minutes of binocular viewing we realized they were coming our direction, then a few minutes later we realized they are headed directly towards us. This is where the video starts. All five of them passed directly underneath Drömmen! It was a bit nervous with the Orca Network boat just behind us and waving their flag and radioing boats coming in and out of the passage to warn of the pod. In retrospect we believe we did all the right things and it just happens this way sometimes. These were later identified as the T99s Biggs Whales.

Cowichan Bay in British Columbia is full of Lion’s Mane Jellyfish! On our way out of Genoa Bay we were seeing a dozen every few minutes from our sailboat. I wasn’t brave enough to get in the water with one like @michaelgeorge so I opted for a pole off the side of the boat. Nevermind the tractor engine that is our iron gennie. 😬 by @rick___bike

A short video of our 10 hour day visiting 4 trolls. We only travelled 120 miles, but had to take 3 ferries and visited 3 islands. We made it into a treasure hunt by only using the trollmap that the troll sculpture artist, Thomas Dambo, created. You can find it on trollmap.com. We didn’t make it to the troll east of Seattle in the foothills of issaquah. We are saving that one another time. taken in Seattle, Washington by @rick___bike

Little video of our sail on Easter Sunday. We missed a pod of Orcas by 20 minutes! Had a nice day sailing to Dockton. Weather was really nice and the sailing couldn’t have been better. by @rick___bike

Being a car guy/girl/person is weird. You create these strong attachments to brands and you typically end up forming some kind of identity that is shaped around it. It’s the age old Ford vs Chevy thing. Nobody is wrong, but we fiercely defend our identity like it is a hill we are willing to die on. I’m turning 51 in a week or so and I have been without a German vehicle (or 4) for just over a year now. We both drive Toyota 4x4’s and have my dad’s old Jeep in the garage. There is no Karmann Ghia, Westfalia, 16V Jetta, bay window van. No Audi A3, Q5, or A6. I must be up to owning around 20 or more. I haven’t been without a German vehicle for this long ever. I don’t really know where I was going with this. Mostly I just hope the people that have our Westfalia out in CO love it like we did. 😓 by @rick___bike

Winter is always tough for me with regards to getting out and burning calories. The couch and fireplace are always so inviting and the daylight hours are really limited. Hoping the weather behaves this week so we can get out on the bikes for a couple quick spins. 🚴🏾 #ninerrlt9 #specializeddiverge #gravelbike #toyotat100 #trdsupercharged taken in Lake Youngs Trailhead by @rick___bike
