2 years of chasing this title.

Every year, something got in the way. A bad day, bad luck, someone stronger on the day… always something.

This time, Rick decided to take matters into his own hands.

After just 5 km, he went off the front. Let’s see what happens.

What followed was a long two-man breakaway, pushing through the entire day with @pimronhaar_

With 20 km to go, the gap started to come down. From 1:50 to 1:10.

And that’s when Rick decided:

I’m not waiting, I’m going.

He attacked, committed, and never looked back.

The rest is history. 🏆🇳🇱

Sweden gravel weekend 🇸🇪 @gravelgritngrind

Fast racing, rough gravel and full gas from start to finish. Exactly the kind of racing I love. 😍 taken in Halmstad, Sweden by @rickottema

This weekend was a blast🔥. Finished 4th in the UCI race and 5th in the Nordic gravel serie. Really enjoyed the beautiful Finland gravel roads! Can’t wait to be back here for the 🇪🇺 champs in 2027! 📷 @niklashampinen taken in Lahti, Finland by @rickottema

Finishing 4th in @fallingleaveslahti was about the maximum against the strong @pasnormalstudios squat. Seeing Tobias on a great shape and the other guys were flying. Thanks for this amazing and great organization @nordicgravelseries 🫶 taken in Lahti, Finland by @rickottema
