Join us for the Opening Reception of “If I Had a Hammer: The Poetry of Tools” 🔨 — featuring works from #SUBTERRANEA by Rick Gooding. The event begins at 6PM at the @henrybuilt Los Angeles showroom on Thursday, July 16th.

“Since 2010, I have been developing an anthology of pencil drawings collectively titled Subterranea. These pieces reimagine the built environment as a cross-section of both physical and psychological layers—
channels of memory, geology, and engineered systems. The series draws inspiration from excavation drawings, mapping conventions, and the aesthetics of technical documentation while embracing
abstraction and open interpretation. Though they appear diagrammatic at first glance, the works operate as visual poems about what lies beneath and between our daily environments.”

✏️25 of the 120 Subterranea drawings will be on display through September 17th.

Better than I thought. Well organized on the inside and very good exterior public spaces. I’m impressed that most of the panel joints actually line up and track through (most of them). Compliments on the steel detailing. taken in Musée des Confluences by @chugoodingarchitects

Tragic crime scene on the streets of Paris. Tall man flattened along with daughter traveling in one direction. Culprit is a headless cyclist traveling in opposite direction. Alert authorities if you have information. Stay safe out there. taken in Paris by @chugoodingarchitects

There are 3 projects here done in 3 phases - 1962, 1979 & 1984. All by Jean Renaudie. Social housing and elementary school which I don’t think I found it. So many amazing spaces, pass thrus & short cuts, overlooks and private space. The interior street on the second and third levels was quiet when I was there(Sunday) taken in Ivry-sur-Seine, France by @chugoodingarchitects
