The Warriors finished up their three day camp today. Learning some critical bottom and top moves and defenses. They also recapped the first two days and put it all into one match. We would like to thank the wrestlers who attended from Valdosta, GA and Chattanooga, TN. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our clinician Gordon Central Alumni Matthew Pitts for coming back and pouring into our guys over the three day camp. #oneteamonegoal by @rickytigers

We had our end of the season awards banquet last night. I have been trying to figure out what words to say about this season. The middle school won their Region Championship for the 5th year in a row. We put 11 in the finals and walked away with 8 Region Champions. The high school had an unbelievable season. We placed 1st twice and 2nd twice in two regular season tournaments. We placed 3rd in Region Duals and 2nd in Region Traditional. We also took 11 to sectionals and four to the State Tournament.

As a coach it is always hard to put into words what to say about your season, especially when it is such a successful one, but all I can say is thank you to the wrestlers who toed the line daily, put the work in and continued to strive to get better. Wrestling isn’t easy and it isn’t for the faint of heart and nowadays isn’t for most teenagers. But the ones who take on the tough endeavor and compete are in a league that most other people will never be in, experience or appreciate.

Thank you again to the wrestlers who put their faith in me and our program. Thank you also to our parents, coaches, administrators and support staff who make every season happen. by @rickytigers

I am so proud of these guys and what they are doing this year. This season, they are 6-0 in dual matches. Won the Bruin Dual Tournament last weekend and placed 2nd in the Towns County 2 Day Tournament this weekend. They were only 10 points out of first, and would have won it if we didn't have an injury that took one of our guys out. When I took over this program 5 years ago there were 5 wrestlers on the roster and everything the team owned was given to me in a SMALL cardboard box. We now have over 40 on the high school team and 30 on the middle school team. The results and wins they are accruing are unbelievable. Just proves that when you buy in to the process and work at something you want, you can make it happen for you. Most of these guys have been with me since middle school and have always worked hard on and off the mat. I can't wait to see what else they accomplish this season and in the future. #oneteamonegoal by @rickytigers
