Midnight Coachmen 2021-2024. Sunday February 25th, 2024 marked the end of an almost 2.5 year effort for my latest short film. Arguably the hardest thing I’ve ever worked on, but at the same time the most rewarding and one of the most beautiful pieces I had the privilege to make with an amazing team behind me giving me their talent and support.

Making a film is hard. Making a film during a global pandemic when the odds are against you as an independent filmmaker is even harder.

To the ones on the production portion of this project, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This was a deeply personal film for me. Not so much in terms of the story itself, but what I was personally going through in the last three years.

@romgubin @markklassen
This would not have happened without the both of you. Thank you for your commitment on this.

To my actors and collaborators, thank you.

To all my friends in the creative field, whatever you do please do not stop. Keep making art. If it’s something that you truly love and believe in, you will find a way to get it made. It’s inevitable.

Peace & Love. Ciao for now.

This year we explored a story centered around a unique family dynamic fueled by the pain of loss. Layered and touching upon the long reaching effects of family feuds. Written, produced and directed by Roman Gubin.

Produced by Inna Korobkina who also plays Maria in the film. Incredibly grateful to our entire cast, crew, and supportive families for helping us bring the vision of this story to life. Stunning cinematography of Daniel Zlobin is set to the custom composed score created by Becca Schack.
Keep an eye out for festival appearance announcements in the new year.
