I can't really mention better road cycling experiences than crossing the Oberalp Pass in Switzerland in the shoulder season. I have a wish that road cycling may become everywhere as careless as this. @spokesafety looks really promising on the long run to achieve that goal!

Every road has blind spots. Corners, hills, parked trucks. Spots where a driver simply cannot see what’s coming, and neither can the cyclist.

Every safety system we have, radar, cameras, lane assist, still depends on line of sight. They all work, until they don’t.

Que diría mi bicicleta:

-Además de intentar alertar a todos los autos de que estoy acá, probablemente diría lo ansioso y pensativo que soy sobre todo lo que ha pasado… o que podría pasar en mi vida.

Es como si mi bici estuviera hablando sobre mí.

Probablemente cuente las veces que lloré sobre ella recordando cosas bonitas y también dolorosas.

Probablemente cuente los momentos tranquilos en los que sentí una gratitud inmensa; por mi salud, por mi esposa y por mi familia.

Probablemente se queje de mí por los “Sunday scaries” ;cómo el silencio a veces se vuelve ruido en mi cabeza.

Cómo me pongo tanta presión por cumplir mis metas que a veces olvido respirar.
Cómo tengo miedo de no ser suficiente… incluso cuando estoy dando lo mejor de mí.

Probablemente te cuente que cada vez que salimos mi mente se aclara un poco.

Cómo disfruto de la ciudad donde vivo, drenando mis inseguridades y mi rabia.

Lo bueno es que este año ella podrá “hablar” con los autos cerca de mí, avisándoles que estoy ahi; @ridewithspoke se esta encargando de esa magia. by @ridewithspoke

I think we all agree that a cyclist’s worst nightmare is getting surprised, or even worse, hit by a car.

And we don’t even need to get into what that can lead to.
Being careful on the road isn’t always enough.

A lot of the time, they just don’t see you, and yeah… that’s scary.

The dream we all share is that cars can always see you, and even better, see you ahead of time, just like we see them.

That changes everything and prevents your life from changing in just a few seconds of surprise.

I said it before, this year is for new goals.

- La pasión es la misma; pero las rutas y los desafíos serán mayores , más seguras y mas entretenidas.
