Your rainy day reading companion! ☔️☁️

Rainy days leave me longing to stay inside curled up in blankets, with the windows flung wide so I can hear the rain falling, candles lit all around me, a warm drink by my side and a moody, immersive and atmospheric read!

Here are some that I think fit that vibe (or will fit that vibe if I haven’t read them yet!) 🥰

Happy Victorious day to all who celebrate! 🖤❤️

I read Vicious and Vengeful back in 2020, believing it was a duology. I loved every single second and it’s one that always remained close to my heart as a favourite. When I heard there would be a third, I had mixed feelings! I was incredibly excited to return to the world and the characters, but I liked where Vengeful wrapped up and I felt quite content with it. That being said, that left me with a lot of intrigue in terms of where Schwab would take the slightly unexpected third book in this trilogy. I never could have anticipated what would happen, but it’s absolutely blowing my mind and I’ve never been more glad for a duology to be expanded. I’m still reading it, in that liminal space where you kinda want to put off finishing it and drag it out whilst also being desperate to read it and find out what happens. I’m having the best time 🥺

Thank you @titanbooks for my proof copy! It’ll be treasured with my Villains collection for life.

What are you reading at the moment?

I’ve reached a really fun predicament where I’m currently in the middle of five books BUT three of them have me in an absolutely chokehold and I don’t know how to prioritise. As a mood reader my current mood is that I’d like to read them all, right now, until I finish them. Evidentially I can’t read them all at once 🙃

Victorious by V. E. Schwab I’m about halfway through and it’s shaping up to be my favourite book from the Villains series. I didn’t know where Schwab would go with this book but it wasn’t THIS (I mean that in a great way)

Cursed City by Kate Golden what do you MEAN I might be changing my ship???????

The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon. A reread but I’m so damn giddy to be back with Paige and Warden that I’d like to just stay forever thank you

An excellent problem to have isn’t it 😂

Oh Bartholomew, look at her!!! 🤩

@no0nedesigns has the most gorgeous artwork style and I wish someone documented my reaction when I saw their Knight and the Moth dust jacket for the first time. The cool blue with the silver, the omens, the gargoyle in the corner. Perfect perfect perfect

I’ve added it to my Waterstones edition and I really love how it goes with the edges! I was going to buy a separate hardback to keep this on but now I’m thinking I might keep it on this!

Obsessed would be an understatement

What’s a standalone fantasy book you’d recommend?

If you haven’t read or at least added The Poison Daughter to your TBR yet, you need to get on that! I absolutely loved this book. Never in my life have I read a 600 page standalone and wished fervently that it were longer!

Books with angels, or demons, or both! 🪽🖤

Ever since I finished The Wretched Divine, I’ve found myself longing for another tale steeped in angels and demons. So I did a little digging!

I couldn’t find very many that feature both though, so if you have any recs for me, drop them in the comments! ✨

What bookish world would you love to visit?

Stepping into the Magnificent North would feel akin to actual magic! Every corner of this world is filled with whimsy and wonder. It’s one of my favourites and The Mirror of Infinite Endings was everything I wanted it to be and more. 🥺

What will you be reading next?

Cursed City is now officially out in the world and I am nervous, scared, hyped and everything in between! I love love loved Half City and the ending had me totally shook. I have no idea where Kate Golden is gonna take this story but I’m very ready to find out!

Thank you @arcadia_books for my copy!
