👀 New trails, who dis? 🤟

When @nakiskaskiarea invited us out for a sneak peak of their fancy new digs (pun intended 🪏)...you know we couldn't say no. At around just an hour from Calgary, Nakiska is set to become a new summer destination and the only mountain resort with lift-accessed MTB trails in Alberta. Trails are set to open to the public next summer and we cant wait!

Brad, Callum, and Erin got to get a lay of the land plus test out some of the new trails and first impressions are setting expectations for opening day sky high.

Really great flow with big tables, big scoop berms, and fun side hits. Clear sightlines, good protection from the wind, and a really clear progression throughout the mountain should make it not only tons of fun, but accessible too!

But if big, steep, and fast are on the agenda...were pretty sure you're not going to be disappointed either. We didn't get to ride it, but the jump line looked, um, big to say the least. 👀 Check out the massive tunnel jump for exhibit A.

We got to explore and ride with a bunch of our friends from other shops and industry folk and we don't think anyone's been this excited about anything in a while. taken in Nakiska Ski Area by @ridleyscycle

World class racing a 5 hour flight from home. 🌈🇨🇦

The Women’s Elite Road Race at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships was everything we love about cycling. A great supportive atmosphere cheering on all those regardless of their place in the peloton.

32-inch wheels… the next big thing in mountain biking or just getting out of hand? 👀🚵‍♂️
We asked the Ridley’s crew what they think about the new wheel size, and let’s just say there are some mixed opinions 😂
Would you make the switch to 32s, or are you sticking with your 29ers? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Meet Jon one of our rad Ridley’s Ambassadors!

Jonathan Nutbrown has been part of the Ridley’s Cycle community since 2004 and is proud to represent the shop as an ambassador. His racing career began in Ontario in 1996, progressing from U-17 to Senior Elite before moving to Calgary in 2002. Since then, cycling has taken him across Canada and around the world, competing in mountain bike and stage races throughout North America, Portugal, Spain, and Costa Rica, with podium finishes at the TransRockies and multiple Alberta provincial championships as a Masters athlete. Jonathan’s passion extends well beyond racing—he spent six years building Pneuma, the singletrack climb at Moose Mountain, and continues to give back through trail building and mentoring young riders, including helping organize the 2023 Alberta Games Youth Mountain Bike Race. Now 45, he continues to race mountain bikes, gravel, and enduro while sharing his belief that cycling is a lifelong sport that builds community, supports physical and mental health, and provides an incredible way to experience the outdoors. taken in Calgary, Alberta by @ridleyscycle

🚨 Mooseduro Course release 🚨

Long Course: Upper Jean Guy, Special Spades, 727 and Trappers

Short Course: Upper Family Guy (ending at Billy dog), 727, Trappers

Aid Stations will be at the top of Shattered and 727

Also available on Trailforks - search MooseDuro 2026 and links will be posted here: www.alberta66mtb.com/mooseduro

This course will be hard on your body and bike.. thankfully we have 3 of Calgary’s best bike mechanic departments set up to keep your gear running on race day!

@calgary_cycle will be set up at the Start line in case you have a last minute panic about your derailleur, or forgot to lube your chain after you washed off all that mud from the rain this last week. 🚵‍♀️

It’s usually after the first descent in a race that I realize something is wrong with my bike. Luckily @insidelinemtb will be set up at the top of Shattered - near the start of Stage 1/2/3 and able to help you out before and after our gnarliest stage - Jean Guy. 🪨🤘🏽

After the longest stage in the race, Special Spades, @ridleyscycle will be at the top of 727 ready and waiting to make sure your bike can hold it together for the last two fast and pedally trails. 💨

All these shops, as well as @ethirteencomponents are donating amazing prizes and swag which will be won by our podium winners and raffle ticket holders at the end of the day! taken in Moose Mountain (Alberta) by @ridleyscycle
