Lovely to receive these in recognition musical achievements & daft challenges 🙏🎶 #officialchart #guinnessworldrecords #music #dancemusic #awards by @ridney
I did a thing!! @guinnessworldrecords #vinyl Nearly a year ago, I set out to achieve something on my bucket list, breaking the Guinness World Records record for the Most Vinyl Retail Stores Visited in 24 Hours. After a long wait, I’m incredibly pleased to say that the attempt was successful, I officially achieved the Guinness World Records title! What makes the achievement even more meaningful is that the challenge was completed entirely using public transport and on foot. No cars, taxis or private transport were used, making the logistics of visiting as many record shops as possible within 24 hours an especially demanding part of the challenge. There’s also an important message I’d like to highlight. While vinyl sales continue to grow and the format is enjoying something of a resurgence, three of the independent record shops I visited during the challenge have since closed. It’s a reminder that, despite the popularity of vinyl, local record shops still need our support. So, if you have a great independent record store near you, pay them a visit, buy a record, have a browse and support them whenever you can. These shops are an important part of music culture and the communities around them, and once they’re gone, they can be incredibly difficult to replace. I’m incredibly proud to have achieved this Guinness World Records title, but I’m equally grateful to all the record shops, staff and people who helped make the challenge possible. by @ridney
We go again! We’re really excited to announce @PaharasMusica label boss @ridney as our second artist stepping up for the Mix Series this Friday at 5pm on Capital Chill. With over 20 years releasing music on iconic labels including Defected, Toolroom and Armada, plus regular appearances with Cafe Mambo Ibiza, Ridney brings you the true balearic sound straight from the White Isle. Expect an hour of brand new music and some cheeky balearic bootlegs (his words!) to set the perfect tone for your weekend. As we did last week, we’ll play the mix for you again on Saturday night at 7pm, then you can listen again anytime on @globalplayer, the official Capital Chill app. #inthemix by @ridney
