My sweet parents, Ramesh and Neelam Sharma, went missing in the Nepal–Tibet floods on the morning of August 26. They were just beginning their pilgrimage to Kailash—one of many pilgrimages they had undertaken as part of their lifelong spiritual and religious journey.

Officially, they remain missing. But deep in ours hearts, we have come to accept that they may no longer be with us.

My parents were—and will always be—two of the kindest, most genuine, and spiritually elevated souls. I miss them more than words can say. We all do.

I can only hope that their souls, wherever they may be, are safe and at peace. They met their God in the holiest of places. They met their God together.

All of your prayers and messages have gotten me through the last 10 days - which were the toughest of my life. Thank you. I hope you continue to keep them and my family in your prayers 🤍🕊️ by @riff_radz

I cannot think about my parents without thinking of Nepal.

I set out in search of my parents and ended up spending six days in Kathmandu—six days that I will carry with me forever.

This country may be small, but it is mighty. I have never experienced such kindness, compassion, and love from a community that, frankly, owed me none of it. They treated my pain as their own and showed me a depth of humanity I did not know was possible.

Nepal will be forever intertwined with my parents and me. To be able to walk where they spent their final moments—to see the beautiful mountains they saw and visit the peaceful temples they visited—gave me a small sense of closure.

I know they were happy there.

The people of Nepal gave so much to me when I needed it most. Now, they still need our support as they heal, recover, and rebuild.

Our love, France 🇫🇷
Started in the Côte d’Azur and drove up to Burgundy for amazing wine, good food, and lots of lessons on terroir 🍇
As always, ended in (because there is nothing like) Paris.
