Well, I suppose it’s time I properly introduced myself! 👀🖤 I’m Cari, the face behind Riff & Respawn! 🎸🎮 Music obsessive, gamer, professional overthinker and now apparently someone who points cameras at musicians and asks them ridiculous questions. We’ve got interviews, gigs, gaming content, features and plenty of chaos coming your way. This is only the beginning, and I’d love you to be part of it. 🖤 Heavy music. Gaming. Heavy music. Gaming. Real conversations. 🤘🎮 Welcome to Riff & Respawn 🖤 I’m Cari, a disabled creator bringing together the things I love through band interviews, game reviews, written features and a podcast — with accessibility, mental health and lived experience at the heart of it. If that sounds like your kind of place, come join me. Explore the features and podcast through the link in my bio, and follow @riffandrespawn for more. Introduce yourself below: what’s one band or game you’re obsessed with right now? 👇 #RiffAndRespawn #HeavyMusic #MetalCommunity #GamingCommunity #DisabledCreator @carimurph13 by @riffandrespawn
THE REJECTS HAVE ENTERED ROBLOX. 👻🎮 Apparently haunting our playlists and our houses wasn’t enough. Now The Rejects are haunting Roblox too. 😂 The band threw a virtual Haunted House Party for Halloween and honestly? This is the kind of crossover we’re here for. No broken furniture. No noise complaints. Just absolute chaos. Heavy music. Gaming. Life in between. 🤘 #TheRejects #Roblox #RobloxGaming #AlternativeMusic #GamingCommunity @therejects by @riffandrespawn
🌹 ROSES ARE RED, THE INTERVIEW IS LIVE! 🌹 Well, here it fucking is! 🖤 My first-ever filmed interview for Riff & Respawn, and who better to kick things off with than Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada?! From music and creativity to a few laughs along the way, I had an absolutely brilliant time chatting with Mike before their Birmingham show. I was nervous as hell going into this, but Mike was an absolute gentleman and made the whole experience something I’ll never forget. Massive thanks to Mike, The Devil Wears Prada and everyone who helped make this happen. 🖤 🎥 WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW NOW! 👉 https://youtu.be/gr-HY29thfE Heavy music. Gaming. Well, here we fucking go. 🖤🌹 My first ever on-camera interview, and it’s with none other than Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada! I’m not going to lie, putting myself in front of a camera is absolutely terrifying and I’ve picked myself apart watching the footage back. But you know what? Fuck it. I did something I’ve wanted to do for years, had an incredible conversation with someone I hugely respect and actually had a bloody good time doing it. A massive thank you to Alex for all the hard work behind the scenes, helping bring this together and making sure Riff & Respawn keeps growing into something I’m ridiculously proud of. Couldn’t do this without you! 🖤 And of course, a huge thank you to Mike for being such a genuinely lovely human and making my first interview one I’ll never forget. The full interview is coming early next week, hopefully Monday! 👀🌹 🎸 Riff & Respawn Heavy music. Gaming. 💜🎮 NEW MUSIC. NEW GAME. CROWN THE EMPIRE. Because apparently releasing a new single isn’t enough anymore, Crown The Empire have gone and thrown a video game into the mix too. The band have unleashed their brand new single “violet” via Rise Records, complete with an official music video AND a new game, “Violent Violet”. Heavy music and gaming colliding? Yeah, we’re absolutely here for this. 🤘 🎧 Stream “violet” 🎬 Watch the official music video 🎮 Check out “Violent Violet” Who’s giving this one a spin? And more importantly, who’s playing the game? Some guy I met recently recommended this book so I suppose I better give it a shot @mkhrnc think Pickle wants me to read it out loud to him, that or he’s taking it in by osmosis #books #ashortstayinhell #stevenlpeck by @riffandrespawn
Looking forward to checking these out! Will definitely review them for @riffandrespawn @mkhrnc website - MikeHranica.com #books #bookreview by @riffandrespawn
🌹 ROSES ARE RED, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. 🌹 IT’S LIVE! 🖤 One Sunday. Four incredible bands. One very nervous music journalist armed with a camera, some LEGO roses and a questionable sense of humour. I headed to Birmingham for my first ever filmed interview with Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada and came away with memories I’ll genuinely treasure forever. From making Mike laugh about Meryl fucking Streep to chatting about gaming and mental health with Giuseppe, this was so much more than just another gig. And the music?! FUCKING HELL. 🔥 Oversize 🔥 156/Silence 🔥 Novelists 🔥 The Devil Wears Prada I’ve written about the nerves, the laughter, the incredible performances and the genuinely lovely people who made me feel like I belonged. This is probably the most personal thing I’ve written for Riff & Respawn so far. Absolutely in love with this man, party/snack sized Kratos. Chatting to @giuseppe.a.capolupo before during and after the show was so comforting and this man is genuinely one of the kindest and most interesting people I’ve met, that’s not just me being bias as a fellow drummer although I CANNOT do that as a grade 3 student! Maybe one day! Giuseppe’s wife also plays games on twitch so please go follow her at - @alyssacharity What a whole band of genuinely lovely people, Giuseppe was so down to Earth he actually went to go and watch the other bands play and hang out in the crowd too. I haven’t met anyone who’s done that in a band so big! Can’t wait to see these guys again next tour! @tdwpband #tdwp #thedevilwearsprada by @riffandrespawn
When you’re having such a good time singing along and you just know you’re going to ruin every video you’ve taken but who gives a fuck! I was LIVING! @tdwpband @mkhrnc @jdepoyster #thedevilwearsprada #livemusic #metalcore #metal #gigs by @riffandrespawn
Why I chose the present I did! I’m so glad they liked them! Safely home myself, videos with editor @alex_pigin and review writing will be tomorrow as well as some shorts in the coming days plus the longform interview. Exhausted especially after 20 years housebound but wouldn’t change it for the world! Hope the band are on their way home safely too after an early start at Heathrow! @tdwpband #thedevilwearsprada #bandmerch by @riffandrespawn
