When dad does races with me, I tell him thank you all the time and how much I love him.

Let’s be honest though , you can say whatever you want and make it sound as good as you want. What is harder to do and thus more meaningful is if your actions back up the words you say.

I am so grateful to have my @riftonequipment Pacer to help me do my part for the team, take some weight off of Dad’s shoulders and put him on my back to the finish line. Rifton not only makes great products, but they are also great people. TeamAgar is grateful to have them be a part of our family. by @riftonequipment

Chelsie’s three-week Intensive Physical Therapy session was all about weight shifting, postural control, and building the skills that support more functional movement.

⚖️ @galileojust4kids + @riftonequipment Pacer — Working on getting more weight through her left leg by lifting the right leg off the vibration plate. She tends to rely heavily on one leg, so learning to shift her weight and lift the opposite leg is an important foundation for stepping and transfers.
👣 Treadmill + Rifton Pacer — Then it was time to put that work into action! The treadmill gave her an opportunity to practice stepping after working on that weight distribution.
💪 Prone over a wedge — Working on weight bearing through her arms, head control, and extension. Prone adds a little more resistance, helping build the strength needed to lift and maintain her body in more upright positions.
🪑 Pull to sit — Working on anticipatory control, head control, and scapular control as she moved from sidelying to sitting and back down again. We want her to maintain control rather than simply letting her head fall back as she lowers.
↔️ Spider Cage — Practicing weight shifting from leg to leg with Heather providing movement side-to-side for vestibular input. She also worked towards lifting her head and maintaining head control throughout the movement.

Each activity is targeting a different piece of the puzzle. Together, they’re helping her build the control, strength, and weight-shifting skills needed for more functional movement. 💚

Fantastic work, Chelsie! 🙌

More adjustment options for the Rifton HTS!

The new adjustable backrest features three height settings per size, allowing for more precise positioning and improved headrest placement, especially for smaller users. Using the lower height settings can also reduce the gap at the bottom of the backrest for improved comfort and positioning.

When the backrest is used in its highest position, the new optional Backrest Filler Pad (Z922) can be used to bridge the gap where needed. One filler pad size accommodates all three HTS backrest sizes.*

The new backrest assemblies are fully retrofittable to existing HTS units, making it possible to bring this added adjustability to the HTS you already own.

This improvement was developed in direct response to one of our most frequent customer requests. Thank you for continuing to share your feedback with us!

*The Backrest Filler Pad is not required and does not fit the Small HTS when used with the Z924 Small Soft Seat pad, as the soft pad naturally eliminates the gap.

Rifton is proud to be a Vision Council partner of So Every BODY Can Move, supporting the movement for better access to the devices people need to be active. @soeverybodycanmove

The documentary “Not Medically Necessary” follows people with limb loss and limb difference, clinicians and advocates fighting for access to devices for physical activity and the right to move.

It’s a message that resonates deeply with our work at Rifton: helping people move and participate in everyday life.

A little support can make a difference.

For this week’s Therapist Tip Tuesday, consider support at the pelvis, trunk, and feet to help reduce the effort of maintaining posture during toileting.

The Rifton HTS provides adjustable supports to accommodate individual positioning needs.

Read Kara Pinarreta, MS, OTR/L’s article, “Positioning for Success,” for more toileting strategies:

Six years old, and still surprising me every single day. ❤️

When I look at Mila, I don’t just see her beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous smile. I see a little girl who has fought so hard for every single milestone.

Things that come naturally to other children take Mila months, sometimes years, of hard work.

She may not speak with words, but those eyes tell me so much. And behind that beautiful face is one of the strongest little girls I know.

My beautiful Mila. My reason to never give up. ❤️ #milas_crew #cute #love #stxbp1 #viral #follow #princess by @riftonequipment
