Freshman Year and Third Grade for my babies!! Finally at the same school together. 🧡🖤🧡 Drop off was a breeze! 🙌🏽They didn’t have to wear blazers today, but I told them that they better put those damn blazers on for my picture as much as the blazers cost 😭😩🤣

We anointed them and covered them in prayer as we do always and we encourage other parents to do the same daily. Our kids face so many things that we didn’t even have to think about back in our day. It’s important to cover them and grease up those foreheads. It is your greatest responsibility as a parent.

You’ve achieved so much in this sport so early, yet you remain humble. Chin down, head up…You know how we get down.

You hold me accountable. I have to approach your wins and losses totally different than I do with your Sister. You challenge me in ways I couldn’t imagine having to do as a Father. Simply put, you make me better.

We’re in this together. Congratulations on your success this Season! We’ll continue to grow together, learn together, and watch the World Cup ⚽️ together….I love you Buddha! Let’s Get It!

Dear Yara,

Year 5 in the books….Hmm, where do I start?

Believe it or not, parents get strength through their children. We want to protect you all from EVERYTHING, but that’s not possible. The last three track seasons, I’ve watched you fight. From growing pains to continuous ankle sprains, you fought!

You never made excuses, you never quit; even when it was the easiest thing to do most times. That’s the strength I get from you. It makes me try harder as a Father. If my daughter can fight battles and win, why can’t I?

God made NO mistakes with you. I get emotional every time a Season ends, because I know you’re getting older. We’ll wait and see what lies ahead for Club Track, but we know what’s next. It’s been a heck of a ride and you’re a true gem. I’m so excited for your next Chapter.

As a reminder, track is just a tool! It doesn’t define you. You punched your Junior Olympics ticket this Season, hit time marks you’ve strived for, and took HUGE steps off the track that will positively impact your training heading into McDonogh. Most importantly, you remembered who you are and WHOSE you are. You’re winning at LIFE….You can’t put a time on that. It’s a forever race you’re already winning!

Keep God first, follow your heart, and know Mom and I will ALWAYS be your biggest fans.

The LTSC Dawgs played extremely well today to capture the win!

TJ has worked really hard on shooting with his left foot; especially on the run. It’s such a joy to see his hard work play out during competition.

I’m a Father before anything. Speak life into your kids. Be sure they understand what’s important and what’s not. Sports will teach them life lessons early on, use these lessons to make them better. Teach them to love themselves and to give themselves grace, regardless of the outcome. If they have a strong foundation, they will know hard work achieves goals.

So in some moments, remind them, they’re just a kid, learning, growing, and figuring it all out; and that you’re just their parent thankful to God He trusted you enough to be their parent.

We pray that God provides and protects over you throughout this school year. We pray for good health, mental and physical, accomplished goals/dreams, and new opportunities/achievements. We pray that you stand firm on your beliefs in God and personal. We pray that the enemy loses all gimmicks and ploys to distract you or take your attention off of what matters most. We pray that you continue to chart your own course, unapologetically, with confidence and good moral character. We ask and pray the God continues to nurture our relationship as your parents and that our love, trust, and respect continues to grow for one another.
