@stranjahbeatz talks us through Toronto’s 30 year rich history of drum and bass. 🇨🇦

We caught up with STRANJAH. Canadian producer, active since the late 90’s and now one of the most-followed music production educators and artists online. He talked us through the city’s rich 30 year history, its venues, the people who helped pioneer the scene in the city, who’s currently taking over the torch and he hands out some wisdom for anyone learning to make tunes.

His words on where it’s at now: “keep pushing and investing in the next generation.”

What’s better than partying on a boat strapped with a weighty soundsystem out in the Adriatic Sea? 🇭🇷

In this Festival Files: @outlookfestival, we showcase what artists we’re watching, the sets you shouldn’t sleep on, and the boat parties worth booking.

On Saturday, @1985music bring @napes_uk and his signature blend of jungle, grime and minimal drum and bass. Sunday features @rupturelondon’s very own pioneer, @dj.mantra, alongside one of the best modern junglists, @nectax. There’s no way better to close out the festival than seeing @shirley__temper at @big_fat_rave, who is sure to keep the energy high till the very end.

Rigside Radio #001: Xolyx 🇬🇧

@xolyx_uk is the first artist through the door for our Rigside Radio series of mixes.

Watford producer Joe Birchall has been making moves in the deep and technical end of drum and bass for a few years now. Releases on Incurzion Audio, SINE Audio, and Modular Carnage, with support from Ray Keith, Noisia, and Bredren. Precise sound design, heavy rolling low-end with real weight behind it.

This mix features an array of tracks following that very same energy, from Amoss to Kasra, HLZ to Napes, and obviously some Xolyx dubs peppered in for good measure.
