Finally made it. ⚓️

As some of you know, the last 2 months have been a battle with this E38. After getting pulled over, the car was sent for a mechanical inspection because it was too low, had cambered wheels, stretched tires, exhaust that was too loud, tints that were too dark, and taillights that didn’t shine enough.

A lot of people around here would’ve just found a way around the inspection or parked the car for good. I decided to do it the right way and bring it back fully legal, bone stock condition.

That meant replacing the valve cover gaskets (again… M62 owners know the pain), replacing leaking power steering hoses, dropping the fuel tank to weld a leak, reinstalling and welding the complete OEM exhaust, wrapping the clear taillights red and the front signals yellow, replacing torn CV axle boots, and chasing one of the worst electrical problems we’ve had... The wipers didn’t work because water got into the E-box under the DME. We tracked down broken and missing relay wires using the factory wiring diagrams, repaired everything, fixed the loose wiper linkage, and finally got the system working like new.

Countless late nights at the shop, covered in oil, chasing problems one after another… but today it finally paid off.

✅ Inspection passed.

That’s also why I haven’t been posting much lately. Every free night was spent bringing the 7er back to life.

Huge thanks to my buddy @emerik_lapointe_ for all the mechanical help and to @fred_mz3 for spending time removing the tint. Couldn’t have done it without you guys.

And before everyone asks… yes, the car is going back to its stanced setup. This stock look was only temporary to get everything legal. The rebuild starts now. 👀
