Welcome to Rikud, the Prospect Heights movement studio that is doing things a little differently.

The team at Rikud Studio believes people should learn how to move based on how they feel.

No mirrors, no recitals, no competitions. Think of them more as a family dance party in your living room than a traditional studio.

Rikud is community-focused and committed to teaching dance in a low-pressure, historically accurate way.

Hip hop, breaking, graffiti, DJ, and house classes are taught by highly respected, professional dancers on the cutting edge of the industry. Classes are available for all ages, infants through adults.

I’m a Breaking teacher at Rikud, where I teach students the foundations of breaking while encouraging musicality, creativity, confidence, and their own individual style.

𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝.
I’m a B-boy from Almaty, Kazakhstan, and I’ve been breaking for 16 years. Been in you for last 10 years. I’m also part of One Society Crew NYC and have experience competing, performing, and developing my own style. For me, breaking has always been about music, movement, culture, and self-expression.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨?
Outside the studio, I’m still pretty connected to dance and hip-hop culture. I train, work on my own movement, explore music, and spend time creating and connecting with people in the NYC dance community. I also have a background in marketing, so I enjoy the creative side of things as well.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐤𝐮𝐝?
My favorite part is seeing students grow and become more confident. I really enjoy watching them discover their own personality through movement and realizing that they can do things they didn’t think were possible.

Something people might not know is that I started dancing when I was 14 after seeing B-boys in a space where I practiced boxing first but then I met bboys. I had no idea at the time that it would eventually take me all the way to New York and become such a big part of my life.
