Dear weightlifting,

It is time to put my pride aside & close this chapter of my life. Now I can’t say I won’t ever pick up a bar again… but for now farewell.

11 days I’ll start nursing school, something I truly feel called to by God & it’s time to focus on this new chapter.

Despite any lows, I’ve met so many extraordinary people from this sport & you’ve always given me a family. You’ve taught me perseverance, strength, confidence, grit, & more.

I’ll always love you & everyone I’ve done this sport with. by @rileejoon

26’ National University Championship 💛❤️

77kg/170lbs Snatch (Comp PR)
102kg/225lbs CJ (All Time PR)
179kg/395lbs Total (+13kg All Time PR)

Big thank to my coach, Germ, I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today if I never became your athlete. You’re the best thing to ever happen in my weightlifting career.

Thank you to my friends for the love & support. Thank you God.

P.S. Just a “stupid” weightlifter lifting heavy weights ☺️ by @rileejoon

The weight on the bar means nothing to me when I remember the Lord above, who carried the cross & died on it for my sinful soul.

Grateful just to be here. by @rileejoon

That’s a wrap to my 20th celebration!

Abundantly rich in so many ways. Anxious to head into my 20s, to never be a teenager again; but I’m also heading into this new era as the best version of myself.

Excited to Jesus’ plan for my 20s to unfold, & grateful to have my best friend (my mom) & my family right there with me ❤️ by @rileejoon
