A year without my mom doesn’t feel real. My mom was my bestfriend before anything else. She was selfless, gentle, funny, kind, she loved anyone and everyone and was the kind of person that just radiated joy and happiness no matter what she was going though.
This past year without my mom has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through but along with that, it was also a year filled with quiet blessings. Through losing my mom I was shown just how loving and supportive people truly can be and I don’t think I would’ve made it through this year if it weren’t for the people that stepped up and helped me through it. I learned that no matter how dark life can feel, there’s always something you can be grateful for. i’ve learned that nobody is meant to carry things on their own and that it’s okay to lean on others and ask for help. But more than anything, her passing has shown me how fragile time really is. There’s no time to wait for the “perfect” moment, no time to hold grudges or live with negativity, no time to dwell on things, or worry about things you can’t control. If there’s one thing that I can take away from this past year, it’s that you never know what tomorrow holds, so choose to be gracious and forgiving, love freely, live in the moment and make sure the people that you love never have to question it, cause id do anything to give my mom another hug, make her laugh, or tell her that I love her.
