Last year I was at my lowest point after finishing my senior season hurt. I doubted my value and lost my identity, but I refused to let it stop me. I stayed working and eventually got healthy. Soon after starting my college career, the injury came back and my motivation took a big hit. I kept working and trusted in His plan. As soon as I got healthy, I was told “Don’t get your expectations to high”, and “you won’t PR this season, but don’t worry”. I kept working and now God has blessed me with PRs in the 100m and 200m with 1 meet left. Proverbs 16:1-4 Plans are made in human hearts,
but from the LORD comes the tongue’s response.
All one’s ways are pure in one’s own eyes, but the measurer of motives is the LORD.
Entrust your works to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.
The LORD has made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for the evil day. by @rileyleyva

I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to the University of California, Davis! I would like to thank God for blessing me with the strength and determination to get to where I am now. Thank you to coach Makusha for believing in me and a great visit! Thank you to coach Haneef, Lorne, and the Havoc Family for helping me this past year. You guys have believed in me since I started working with you and are my second family. Thank you to my parents for staying by my side the whole way and attending all of my meets, no matter how far. Lastly, thank you to my close friends who supported me when I needed it most. #goags #committed @nmakusha @gotspeed_athletes @havocathletics @brnprod taken in San Diego, California by @rileyleyva
