As I close out my last season of volleyball, I keep thinking about how deeply this sport has woven itself into my life. Volleyball wasn’t just something I showed up to, it became my escape, my motivation, and the light I held onto in every dark tunnel I’ve walked through. And through it all, Christ was my strength. Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’
There’s something special about the feeling of stepping onto the court each time that can’t be found anywhere else. This sport shaped me into the athlete and person I am today. It taught me how to work hard even when I’m tired and feel like I have nothing left to give. And along the way, volleyball gave me friendships that feel like family, moments I’ll never forget, and memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you to every coach—volleyball and not—who believed in me, pushed me, and helped me grow not just physically but mentally. Thank you to my family and friends who supported me in the stands and beyond; your encouragement helped carry me through every high and low.

I’m walking away grateful and forever thankful for this sport that gave me so much. taken in SC4 Athletics by @rileyrae.02
