Tierstimmen – Kontakt durch Klang🎶

The exhibition at @museumsinclairhaus, curated by Jessica Ullrich and Martin Ullrich, asks how humans can connect with other species and what happens when we truly listen. Sound is seen as a unifying element between humans and animals. The calls, songs, and sounds on view tell stories of navigation and foraging, love and danger, play and community. We designed the accompanying publication, drawing on the concepts of resonance and rhythm: vibrant colors and musical notation run throughout the book, in dialogue with the featured works, essays, poems, and texts.

With works by Ars Electronica Futurelab (Peter Holzkorn, Nicolas Naveau, Anna Weiss), Marek Brandt, Michelle Cheng, Catherine Clover, CMUK, Marcus Coates, Emily Doolittle, Fevered Sleep, Ariel Guzik, Alice Q. Hargrave, Michaela Harrison, Olga Karlíková, Tuomas A. Laitinen, Alexander Liebermann, NEOZOON, David Rothenberg, Leena Saarinen, Abigail Sanders, Yiou Wang, William Wegman, Jana Winderen, Ylla as well as soundscapes, music, and numerous animal sounds.

This year’s filmPOLSKA is coming to an end today! 💜🧡

For the 21. edition of the Polish film festival @polnisches_institut_berlin we developed a visual identity for printed and digital media. The brick as a central element refers to the movie “Man of Marble” by Andrzej Wajda and stands for community, building and collective action.

Yesterday at @hosekcontemporary, five short films and a performance were shown under the title “Breathe in, Berlin”, curated by @majsmoszna.

Today the festival will be closed @klickkino, screening the movie “Hunting Flies” by Andrzej Wajda.

Venues:

The exhibition “Vogelperspektiven” @museumsinclairhaus features sculptures, films, photographs, and paintings that trace the flight paths, songs, and swarm movements of birds. It offers new perspectives on their habitats and our relationship with them. 🦆🦅🐓🦜

We developed a visual concept for all the communication materials. The design cooperates with @matthias_garff‘s bird sculptures which are made of various materials and reflect the diversity and complexity of the theme. Alongside the sculptures, text is placed playfully and dynamically across the formats, creating a lively visual interplay between birds and typography.

What information about the Holocaust was accessible in the German Reich? What did Germans notice if they were not directly involved in the crimes and not targeted by persecution? How did relevant facts and rumours spread at the time? What did individuals do with their knowledge? These questions are at the heart of the exhibition “The Holocaust – What Did the Germans Know” @topographiedesterrors

Alongside the exhibition graphics we designed the accompanying catalogue, translating the vast archival footage into a 339 page book. The catalogue brings together all of the exhibition’s content, hundreds of documents and photographs of the time. The visual language and design elements mirror the exhibition and are reinterpreted throughout the publication.

The catalogue is available at @topographiedesterrors. by @riminiberlin

Together with Lendler Ausstellungsarchitektur and @studio_syntop, we developed the exhibition design: Different levels and cut-outs in the exhibition walls invite visitors to actively search for materials from different perspectives. The exhibition is divided into the three sections “Propaganda”, “Indications in Everyday Life” and “Putting the Pieces Together”, which visitors can explore intuitively. The fragmentary and sometimes contradictory nature of the information presented is deliberately emphasised. A highly factual, contemporary sans-serif typeface contrasts with the large number of facsimiles and printed materials on display.

The exhibition is open until January 31, 2027.

“Max Ernst to Dorothea Tanning: Networks of Surrealism” @neuenationalgalerie

One hundred years after the “First Surrealist Manifesto” (1924), this exhibition offers new insights into the far-reaching networks of this international 20th-century art movement. The focus is on both the stories behind the creation of the artworks and the life stories of the key artists, art dealers, and collectors of Surrealism.

We developed a graphic design concept for the exhibition that illustrates the networks using striking and easy-to-understand infographics. The focus was on the provenance chains of the individual works of art. A subtle overall color scheme allowed visitors to navigate the exhibition beyond the text.

The exhibition series “Auf Zeit,” curated by Maria Vedder, has been showcasing various works of video art at the White & Case law firm (@whitecase) since 2016. We designed a special publication to mark the tenth edition of the exhibition.

The comprehensive catalog for the “Auf Zeit” exhibition series brings together the artistic work of Franz Reimer, Yvon Chabrowski (@yvonchabrowski), Christoph Brech, Heike Baranowsky (@baranowskyheike), Niklas Goldbach (@niklasgoldbach), Alexandra Ranner (@alexandraranner), Philipp Geist (@videogeist), Yalda Afsah (@yaldaafsah), Anna Anders (@anna_anders_videoart), and Maria Vedder (@maria.vedder). The showcase of the art in the publication is rounded off with essays by Nicola Kuhn, Norbert Wimmer and Maria Vedder, which explore the exhibition series, as well as the practice of exhibiting in non-public spaces.

The publication is deliberately small and compact. To ensure that the artistic works have sufficient space, they are presented on fold-out pages following a similar structure to the individual flyers for the solo exhibitions.

The book “Kunsthistorikerinnen im 20. Jahrhundert: Institutionen, Strukturen, Handlungsräume” (Women art historians in the 20th century: institutions, structures, spheres of action) highlights why it was much more difficult for female art historians to gain visibility and advance their careers. The texts collected in this volume not only reveal misogynistic mechanisms of exclusion, but also the many ways in which female art historians have had a decisive influence on art research.

We developed a design concept for the publication that is based on the publication Kunsthistorikerinnen 1910–1980 (Women Art Historians 1910–1980) and Instagram posts @kunst.innen accompanying the book.

Different media for „Berlin Carousel – The Academy as Living Artistic Practice“ by @arnolddreyblatt & @akademiederkuenste in collaboration with @raumlaborberlin 🌀

With “Berlin Carousel – The Academy as Living Artistic Practice” Arnold Dreyblatt draws on John Cage’s Theater Event No. 1 (1952), in which artists performed simultaneous actions among the audience within a set time frame. For the duration of the event, the Akademie der Künste transforms into a “working academy,” where more than 50 Academy members and artists from various disciplines combine research, discussion, performance, and interaction.

35th Anniversary Goldrausch (2025)
The Goldrausch Women Artists Project is dedicated to promoting the public visibility and recognition of outstanding artistic practices by women and FLINTA individuals. Since its founding in 1989, it has supported more than 500 women* artists and built a unique network that fosters exchange, solidarity-based professionalism, and public presence.

To mark the anniversary, we designed a publication that lists the names of all participating artists chronologically by year of birth. Each year is set in a typeface that was particularly popular in that year—a typographic concept that underscores the feeling of traveling through time.

The publication was digitally printed on scraps of paper in various colors. As a result, each copy is one-of-a-kind and highlights the resource-efficient use of existing materials, whilst making the calendar updatable.
