Which wheels for this floor? 🛼

Every spot page on Rink Report now shows a Wheels card: the hardness range most quad skaters start with for that spot’s floor, on a 78A to 101A scale.

Asphalt: 78A to 85A
Uncoated concrete: 78A to 88A
Laminate or vinyl: 85A to 95A
Coated concrete: 85A to 95A
Skate court: 88A to 95A
Coated wood: 90A to 101A

It is a starting point, not a rule. Your weight, your style and how slick the finish is all move the number. Quad wheels only, no brands.

249 spots have a floor type so far, and we are filling in the rest. Know a floor we are missing? Tap Suggest a fix on the spot and tell us.

We’ll be in Santa Monica today. 🛼🌴

Rink Report is headed to Aperol & APIs, a rooftop social hour for founders from the Vonage Startup Program, part of LA Tech Week. Today, Wednesday, October 14, 4 to 6 PM.

Why Vonage? Their APIs power the text messages and voice calls behind Roll Safe, our check-in feature. When a skater’s check-in goes overdue, or they ask for help, Vonage is what reaches their emergency contacts. Roll Safe sessions are free for every skater, so we’re glad to say thank you in person.

If you’ll be on that rooftop, come find us and say hi. Quad skates, rinks and sessions near you are all fair game.

Not in Santa Monica? Rink Report maps 34 places to roll within 25 miles of that rooftop alone. Find your next floor at rinkreport.app. Link in bio.

Tonight I’m on stage at PitchLive.LA for LA Tech Week, talking about Rink Report. 🛼

I started skating at Holiday Skate Center in Orange. Every time I wanted to know which rink was open that night, the answer was buried in an Instagram post, a Facebook page or a PDF, and half the time the rink had closed. So I built the thing I wanted: a live guide for roller skaters, with every place checked by a person.

Today it covers 1,292 places in 74 countries, close to 4,000 sessions and events, and safety tools like Roll Safe for skating alone. It is about ten weeks old and I built it solo, so I’m still the first person to tell you what is missing. Thank you to every skater, rink owner and host who helped me get it this far.

If you’re at the event, come say hi. If you’re not, the app is free: rinkreport.app

Rinks for Sale is live on Rink Report. 🛼🏷️

99 rinks, land leases and floors across 38 states, with search, filters by type and price, and a free way to post your own. The median asking price is $750K, and the board runs from under $250K to $13M.

Most listings are leads from the skating community that we are still checking, and each one says so. Asking prices are the sellers’ own. Tap Message seller and we pass your note on; contact details stay private.

Every closing rink is a floor someone could keep rolling. If you know of one that is for sale and not listed, or one that has sold, tell us on rinkreport.app/rinks-for-sale.

Swipe for where they are, what they ask and how it works. Link in bio.

The Last Song. 🛼
A memorial for the rinks that closed for good, with their history and where each fact comes from.
World on Wheels, Mid-City Los Angeles, 1981 to 2020. It grew into the heart of the city’s Black indoor skating scene, built on hip-hop and R&B. It closed in 2013, reopened in 2017 with investment from Nipsey Hussle and promoter Tommy Karas, and closed again in 2020.
Holiday Skate Center, Orange, California, 1973 to 2026. Fifty-three years on Wayfield Street. Its final sessions were on August 2, 2026, after the lease ended and the property owner chose not to renew.
Skated at either one? Tell us what the floor sounded like and who you skated with: rinkreport.app/last-song. We ask before anything you share is shown.

Check the sky before you roll. 🌦️

Rink Report now shows official National Weather Service alerts on every US spot: what the alert is, when it ends, and what it means for skating, plus a 24-hour and 7-day forecast right on the spot page.

🗺️ Turn on Weather on the map to see every area under a warning, watch or advisory. Tap anywhere for the conditions and alerts at that exact point.
🚨 A Weather alerts page: pick your state and county, see every alert, how many spots are under it and what to do.
📍 Tap an alert for its own page with a map of the affected area, the National Weather Service’s full text and the spots under it.

Heat, wind, flooding, smoke, coastal hazards: you decide with the real picture in front of you. The alerts are the National Weather Service’s own and cover US spots. Always check local conditions and official guidance before you head out.

(The alerts in this video were live on October 9.)

No account needed to browse. rinkreport.app, link in bio. Quads welcome. Always.

Your skate scene just got a glow-up. 🛼✨

Rink Report has a new look, and it all comes from how skaters actually use it.

🎬 Hosts get top billing. Every DJ, instructor, crew, shop and rental now has a poster, a tagline and their next show, with a stripe in their colour.

🎟️ Events are tickets. The flyer on top, then a stub with the day, the time and the place, and one tap to say you’re going.

💻 Built for the big screen. On a laptop the list and the map sit side by side, and spot pages use the whole width. Phones look just like before.

🌗 Easier to read, day and night. We checked the text against its background in light and dark mode on every page.

Same free spots and events, just nicer to look at. Which spot or host should we feature next? Tell us in the app with Suggest a fix.
