🏆 AUDIENCE AWARD 🏆

NO PLACE LIKE HOME — A Portrait of Milano Centrale
Directed by René Olivo

Every country has that one spot. The place everyone knows, everyone has a story from, and generations of skaters simply call home.

For Milan, that place is Milano Centrale.

Funny how a bunch of white Italian marble blocks can end up feeling more like home than actual home home.

Through 30 years of archive footage, photos and firsthand stories, René Olivo captures what makes MC so much more than a legendary skate spot: the friendships, memories, generations and community built around it.

One visitor who missed the screening later tracked down the film after hearing someone at Suomifornia talk about it. After watching, they sent us a beautiful message saying they finally understood what everyone had been talking about. They felt the place, the people and the meaning behind those marble blocks — and thanked Suomifornia for leading them to a film they might otherwise never have seen.

That alone feels like a pretty good reason for an Audience Award.

Congratulations René, Milano Centrale and everyone who calls those marble blocks home. ❤️

The people of Suomifornia have spoken.

The Audience Award participation prize winner was selected at random and has already been contacted. A Marshall speaker & Suomifornia deck will soon have a new home. ❤️ by @rinothechef

René Olivo presents “BOLTS”

A new skateboarding stand-up comedy set written exclusively for @connect.skaturbanism.festival

A personal, irreverent look at skate culture, meeting pros, crappy algorithm suggestions, skatestoppers, and the lifelong pursuit of landing “BOLTS.”

A one-and-done skateboarding comedy set.

See it at CONNECT or never see it again.
(Also because they’ll probably never invite him back after this one…)

This edition is gonna be NUTS!
There's so much happening.
