A New York, o in qualunque parte del mondo:

“Where are you from?”
“Arezzo.”
“Where is it?”
“In Tuscany.”
“Ah, near Florence!”

E io sorrido. Perché Arezzo era già una grande città etrusca secoli prima che Firenze nascesse come centro urbano.

Arezzo. Arretium, uno dei più importanti centri etruschi del VI secolo a.C., una delle più antiche culle delle arti e dei mestieri del mondo. Qui, oltre 2.500 anni fa, l’arte abitava già la vita quotidiana. E qui vivono ancora famiglie dai nomi antichi, incisi, come le pietre della città, da secoli e secoli di storia, ingegno e bellezza.

Io sono nata ad Arezzo.

Per questo è stato così emozionante accogliere ad Arezzo dieci amici arrivati da ogni parte del mondo e condividere con loro la bellezza, la storia, le arti, i mestieri e l’anima della mia città.

Ringrazio il sindaco, gli assessori, la giunta e tutti i collaboratori per l’ufficialità e l’affetto con cui hanno accolto i nostri ospiti. Grazie a Daniela che ha curato la logistica. Grazie ai rettori e ai capitani dei quartieri, che ci hanno aperto le porte delle cene propiziatorie: un’esperienza amata da tutti. Grazie ai ristoranti, che hanno lasciato ogni ospite con l’acquolina in bocca, e alle strutture che ci hanno ospitato.

Grazie di cuore a Ludovichi Catering per il delizioso aperitivo offerto ai nostri ospiti.

Grazie alla Cooperativa Taxi di Arezzo, che ci ha scarrozzato avanti e indietro senza sosta: ancora non so come abbiano fatto a sopportarci! E grazie al salone Lella Pepe, che con grandissima generosità si è occupato di rendere questi artisti ancora più belli — se mai fosse possibile.

Mi sarò certamente dimenticata un miliardo di persone che ci hanno regalato un sorriso, una stretta di mano, una bevuta insieme! Scusate!

È stata un’emozione enorme vedere questi artisti tifare per Arezzo, per i suoi quartieri, per la sua gente, e sentirli ripetere continuamente:

“Wow, è la città più bella del mondo!”

E da oggi, quando sarò in giro per il mondo e mi chiederanno:

“Where are you from?”
“Arezzo.”

“Wow, the most beautiful city in the world!”

Questo è ciò che voglio sentire. Ed è ciò che continuerò, per sempre, a tentare di fare.

Proud and honored that “Island of Dreams” has ranked #1 for production funding from the Sicilia Film Commission.

Rin Tintin is proud to announce that today he has officially joined the ground staff of ITA Airways. 🐶✈️

His responsibilities include:

• Carefully inspecting every suitcase placed on the conveyor belt.
• Judging passengers who somehow fit an entire wardrobe into a carry-on.
• Politely monitoring excess baggage situations.
• Personally welcoming the most deserving travelers to the VIP Lounge.

Luggage that meets his strict standards is immediately approved.

Luggage that doesn’t… receives a look of profound disappointment, which, according to experts, weighs considerably more than any excess baggage fee.

A huge thank you to @ITAAirways for always taking such good care of me and my human. ❤️

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have important airport business to attend to.

A heartfelt thank you to the La Femme International Film Festival for selecting the Director’s Cut of my beloved “Sicilian Holiday”, which was screened last night in Budapest.

Watching this film again was a deeply cathartic experience. Seeing the characters of a story I wrote, directed, and produced alongside @adamleipzig @rai_cinema and so many extraordinary colleagues reminded me of something precious: we were never just making a film. We were a family.

Giant thank you to @maxleo70 for creating the look of our precious film and @massitrevis for the enchanting cinematography.

My gratitude goes to every member of this incredible cast and crew, especially @lillyenglert Claudia Gerini, Tony Schiena, Francesco Leone, Ivo Romagnoli, Nicoleta Nucă, Lee Levi, Nunzio Bertolani, Felix Maximilian, Fuchsia Kate Sumner, Rintintin, all the children, Maestro Catanzaro, and everyone who poured their heart into this journey.

And among the film’s greatest stars, I must thank Sciacca itself. More than a location, more than a backdrop, Sciacca became a living soul within the story—its beauty, its warmth, its people, its light. It was not merely where Sicilian Holiday was filmed; it was one of its most unforgettable protagonists.

But above all, this film belongs to him.

My best friend.

The man to whom this film is dedicated.

An extraordinary human being, an extraordinary actor, and a friend loved by everyone: Rocco Ancarola.

I cried watching the film again.
I cried watching him.
I cried knowing he is no longer here.

And then, after the rain that accompanied the screening, as we stepped out of the cinema, a magnificent rainbow appeared above us—bright, vibrant, joyful, impossible to ignore.

And there he was.

Just as always.

The sign I had been waiting for.

The gentle reminder that happiness is never truly lost.

Thank you, Budapest.
Thank you, La Femme.
Thank you, Sciacca.
Thank you, my friends.

And thank you, Rocco. 🌈❤️
