Inspired by the light of South West France, Rion Jacobs creates vibrant, balanced works filled with colour. Working primarily in silkscreen, she uses mono printing and painterly techniques to achieve a spontaneous feel, combining expressive mark-making with crisp graphic elements and occasional collage. Her work will be at The Affordable Art Fair Next week with us on stand H10!

I’m revisiting some of my abstract series, but instead of my usual screen printed monotypes, I’ve been exploring using oil paints on paper and board. It is such a different experience to screenprinting, where planning is paramount and and time is limited before the ink dries and blocks the screen mesh! I’m loving the flexibility of being able to push paint around and mix colours directly on the surface…. This small painting is following on from my “Icarus” series. #oilpainting #experimentation #londonartist #abstractart #colour by @rionjacobs88
