I think I spent about half an hour up here just taking in the view without taking any photos or videos. This was the best experience I’ve had since starting rooftopping. We were right in the heart of the New York City skyline while there was a dry thunderstorm, it felt like a fever dream. I can’t thank @maxixity enough, he made my visit to New York unforgettable. Also thanks to @cross.map for waiting outside in the car while we hit this 😭

After barely four hours of broken sleep inside the freezing chimney waking up countless times, shivering so hard I had to do push-ups just to stay warm we dragged ourselves to the beginning of the rusted ladder. My hands, soft from months without climbing, were torn and numbed by the cold steel as we got higher and higher. But when we reached the top, all the pain faded. The view was unreal an endless skyline wrapped in early morning silence. We stayed there for nearly an hour, soaking it in. And just before climbing down, despite the blood and numbness in my hands, I couldn’t resist I leaned out and hung from the edge, just to feel that freedom.

The world is beautiful

This climb was something else. We rotted on trains and buses for almost 12 hours, and upon our arrival we realised that we hadn’t even seen what the tower looked like yet. We were merely trusting the word of our friend. We slept in the forest and woke up for sun rise only to learn that the tower was an ‘AM tower’ (typically these aren’t even safe to touch). With nothing to do but wait for our friend to awake and inform us on the data of this tower we argued for hours, bickering about what a waste of time this had been. Finally after hours of waiting I confirmed that the tower was safe to touch and then finally began my ascent.
