[ad] Midweight cashmere and merino wool has me ready for the season. What I like about @riseandfall is their focus on materials and when I was young I’d walk around the shops with my mum and she’d always feel each piece of clothing. I never got it at the time, the habit even frustrated me, but now I’m exactly the same and how something feels is one of the most important things. Thank you Rise & Fall for making pieces you want to wear and feel time and time again and thanks mum for showing me the way.

Breaking news: summer is over.

You can get dressed again.

Expect cashmere, merino and lambswool. Citrine, poppy, putty and oxblood. And a forecast that looks decidedly woollen.

Please Touch.

A play on the familiar ‘Please Don’t Touch’, inviting you to do exactly the opposite.

For AW26, we’re taking a closer look at the natural fibres we know well — cashmere knitted tighter, merino reworked into loopstitch, double-faced wool and suede designed to get better with wear.

Material Study is an exploration of the materials behind the collection, from knitwear and outerwear to homeware and a considered edit of gifts for the season ahead.

AD/ A few new pieces from @riseandfall that have made their way into my autumn wardrobe. First up, this half zip jumper with the most perfectly shaped cords and a classic white tee underneath. Exactly the sort of outfit I love for days running around London.
Then there’s this gorgeous buttermilk v-neck, worn with barrel leg jeans and a cashmere wrap (I have this in two colours and it’s honestly the most versatile piece in my wardrobe). I love how all these pieces work together. Simple, but with interesting shapes and proportions and the highest quality. Add flats for the day or a little heel for the evening. Pilling isn’t a sign that your knitwear is poorly made. It’s actually a natural part of wearing certain fibres, as loose fibres work their way to the surface through friction.

The good news? It’s easily managed.

Beth, our Head of Product Development, shows you how to use a pilling comb to keep your knitwear looking its best — from how to use it and how often to reach for it.

A small bit of care can go a long way when you want to keep good knitwear in rotation for longer. by @riseandfall

David McGahon and Greg Walton are architects who founded Studio McW (@studiomcw) in 2016, placing quality materials, thoughtful making and architecture that feels grounded and enduring at the heart of the practice. A decade on, their now eight-person team works from their comfortable, tactile and self-designed East London studio, creating one-of-a-kind residential and bespoke commercial spaces across London and the UK.

Greg and David’s approach celebrates natural and long-lasting materials, skilled craft and low-tech detailing, with sustainability inherent to the design process.

Below are a few of their favourite places to visit in London.

@logmaldn - A neighbourhood favourite lunch spot for simple, good food in a beautiful setting.

@museumofthehome - Always an interesting place to wander through history and the different ideas of how we live and make our homes.

@greatbeyondbeer - A small local brewery with good beer and an easy atmosphere perfect for after-work drinks. by @riseandfall
