You are volumes, see your own depths.

Can you ever see your own depths.

There is a person within me, who i am no longer.
But i carry them always. Like a shadow or echo, chapters in my story. My past self whispers to my present actions, we are volumes. I am not one moment in time.

“Keep your hands to yourself”
I’ve often wished I could somehow get through to my kids, change their thinking by some right formula of words, impart understanding. But we are all independent beings, our minds and bodies are our own.

Sequoia Elementary is made by the people who are a part of it. Thank you to everyone who helped this mural come to life, every kid who painted and gave their ideas and their excitement. Thank you to all the parents who helped supervise and contribute supplies and paint with us. Thank you to our brave and fearless garden and art teachers 👏👏👏👏
Sequoia is a school that relies on funding from the community, our garden teacher position is an example of one that is fully funded through donations. Please help us raise funds for more projects and people that we love in our community, click the link in the bio to donate. Thank you taken in Sequoia Elementary by @riseandrender

The 1st - 5th grade Garden Mural at Sequoia Elementary 🌈
This took so many hands, vision and love. And was a learning process for all of us 🩷
The students drew design ideas in their art class, we tried to pull many of the ideas together on the wall, then we painted with all 400+ students. The kids are very proud of their work and the experience they gained. Thank you again to the teachers and volunteers that supported our students and this project.
Special thanks to Ms.Zucchini, Mrs.Misa and Jamie. Dream team.
Thank you @dunnedwards on Telegraph Ave for your help!

May I present to you the TK Kinder wall in the garden at Sequoia Elementary, Oakland CA. Long live Sequoia 2026 🌈🩷✨
It felt like magic or mischief to give a TK student a cup of paint, a brush, a wall and say go for it! Its full of joy and rainbow chaos (plus a little help from our 1st - 5th grade friends). The 1st thru 5th graders got their own wall to imagine.
Thank you to our Garden teacher Mrs.Misa and Art teacher Ms.Zucchini for spearheading this project from finding the funding to the student design and time logistics. Thank you Jamie Olsen for your crazy art skills. Thank you to every parent who volunteered their time and sanity to help the kids paint these walls. Thank you families for your supplies. Thank you parents for tolerating the paint that may have come home on clothing.
@dunnedwards has the most beautiful rainbow of paints! Thank you Dunn Edward’s on Telegraph Ave for your patience and support.
@sequoia_pto Thank you members for your support and supplies.

New artwork going up at @faultline_gallery In their annual women’s 10xTen show.

“Keep your hands to yourself”
I sometimes wish I could reach out and connect, change someone’s mind, affect another person. But I can’t. My control is limited.

Opening is this Saturday the 28th. See you there. taken in Faultline Gallery by @riseandrender

Printing progress at Kala.
Accidentally found a scratch thru this plate right as I was ready to print it. I worked to smooth the scratch out then decided to add a few of my own more intentionally, this might have a nice animated effect… we’ll see. by @riseandrender

I’m grateful to @psych_today for sharing my piece, “Cultivating a Helpful Inner Voice, A Thought Experiment” today. I’m also grateful to the wonderful @riseandrender for contributing the art (shown here).

How can I find a voice within myself that is helpful, supportive, and kind, when my default self-talk is so harsh, critical, condescending, and judgmental?

I teach what this article presents with great frequency, but I actually use it, myself, even more. In my own practice, I have found that it isn’t about developing abilities to not experience difficult emotions, but rather finding ways to relate compassionately to these emotions when they (inevitably) show up.

I truly hope you find this helpful.
