If you’re a therapist who’s tired of insurance deciding what your hour is worth and you’re ready for a cash pay practice that actually pays you, this is where you begin.

I was making about $25-$75 an hour in my private practice. Now it’s $400. So I know what it takes to get out.

OPTION 1: Burn the Couch Therapist Academy
This is my signature program.
16 weeks. Only 5 or 6 therapists at a time. So nobody gets lost and you actually get me.
We build your intensives and your pricing. And we map out how you get off the panels without panicking about money the whole time.
DM me BURN and I’ll send you the details

OPTION 2: 1:1 Coaching
Just you and me.
We figure out exactly where you’re stuck. And then we get you on the path to cash pay, built around your practice and your life.
Really, really personal. Limited spots.
DM me 1:1 to apply

OPTION 3: Freedom Call
Not ready to commit to anything yet? That’s completely fine.
Hop on a free call with me. We look at where your practice is right now and I’ll tell you honestly what your next move should be. Sometimes that’s the Academy. Sometimes it’s one of my free or low cost tools so you can start small.
DM me FREEDOM to grab your spot by @risewithdrangie

The worst thing that ever happened to my career turned into the best thing 🔥

$50,000 in unpaid claims and my savings gone by month 6.

So I got off every panel and learned how to fill my practice with cash pay. Half full in 3 months. Full in 6.

Now I’m at $400 an hour and I work 1 day a week.

If you’re stuck on panels right now that is not on you. The system is built to keep you there.

DM me FREEDOM and I’ll send you a link to a free call. We’ll map out your way off insurance together.
Just for therapists. by @risewithdrangie

Most therapists are told the only way to earn more is to see more clients.

That model never worked for me.

I’m neurodivergent, and the traditional therapy structure — weekly sessions, insurance paperwork, endless emotional labor — wasn’t sustainable for my brain or my wellbeing.

So I built something different.

Here’s what changed:

1️⃣ I niched down deeply.
I specialize in neurodivergent trauma because I’ve lived it. Clients know they’re working with someone who truly understands their experience.

2️⃣ I stopped accepting insurance.
My rate is $400/hour. That reflects the depth of work, training, and emotional labor involved.

3️⃣ I created different ways to access my work.
Not everyone can afford private sessions, so I also offer group experiences, retreats, and consulting.

4️⃣ Premium rates make accessibility possible.
I hold a few pro bono spots each month, which only exists because my higher tiers support it.

5️⃣ I stopped doing weekly therapy.
The liability and emotional load wasn’t sustainable for me. I now work through intensives and deeper containers.

6️⃣ I built strong referral relationships.
I refer weekly therapy clients to trusted colleagues — and they refer people back to me when my work is a better fit.

7️⃣ I network outside the therapy world.
Some of my most aligned clients come through connections with entrepreneurs, CEOs, and professionals outside mental health spaces.

8️⃣ I designed my schedule around my brain.
I work one day per week so I can show up fully present and protect my own nervous system.

The biggest shift?

I stopped trying to fit myself into the traditional therapy model.

And built a practice designed around my brain, my values, and the way I actually want to help people heal.

Comment “Freedom” if you need support

Therapists deserve that kind of freedom too.

Inspired by @zee.slingsby. I’m so nosy and love seeing what she’s eating/wearing/listening to. So figured I’d share mine too !!
All the things I read, listened to, wore and ate this week. Because your therapist is a whole person too.

📚 Read: Veneration Rites of Curanderismo by Erika Buenaflor, I Am Shakti by Maya Tiwari, and The Flesh and the Fruit by Vanya Leilani, PhD. The books grad school never assigned me.

🎧 Listened: The Florence Given Show, “You need to be more greedy.” It’s probably not what you think. Women are the over-givers, the over-generous ones. We need to learn to take more, receive, and give ourselves permission to be greedy for the pleasurable things in life.

👢 Wore: My Freebird alligator boots, my favorite and already broken in. A cozy sweater I thrifted at Uptown Cheapskate here in Boise. And my Good American petite palazzo jeans, because I can sit comfortably in any position.

🍊 Ate: Persimmons, the ones my grandma always shared with me. And GF toast with avocado, eggs.

What about you? What were you up to this week? 👇 by @risewithdrangie

If 2027 is your year to leave insurance 🔥 read this before you start

You already decided. I know you did.
You’ve got the rate picked out. Maybe $200, maybe $250. You’ve rehearsed telling your clients in the shower.
And then you open the insurance portal on a Tuesday night and think, who am I kidding, I’m not a business person.

Nobody in grad school taught you this part. They taught you to bill codes and say thank you for $25 an hour.

I lost $50,000 before I figured it out.

So whether you leave in January or next fall, that’s fully up to you, but I want you walking in with the actual steps

I turned down Cambridge University at 20 and didn’t even google it first 💔

Grew up in homeless shelters. Mom at 16. Graduated high school early anyway, without ever really going to school. Then UC Irvine, and they made me a full ride to finish my degree at Cambridge. My 2 babies could come live in the dorms with me.

And I said no. Because a man who wanted his green card told me it’d be too brutal over there for someone like me. And I believed him.

He lived in my house rent free for 7 years. It took me a long time to call it what it was.

I’m telling you this because I watch it happen to brilliant therapists every single day. The gifted one. The neurodivergent one who always felt a little different in this field. Getting paid crumbs by insurance or a group practice and being told that’s just the job.

If someone keeps telling you you’re not cut out for more, I want you to really, really hear me. They’re usually the ones scared of what happens when you leave.

So that’s why I built Burn the Couch Therapist Academy. I bring shamanic and Indigenous healing practices together with neuroscience to help neurodivergent therapists wake up to what’s keeping them small, and build a practice that’s actually theirs.

I’m not waiting for anybody to invest in me anymore. And I’d love to invest in you.

Comment CURIOUS if your ready to move on from where your at by @risewithdrangie

I’m a mom of six with an ADHD brain. If I can do this you can do this.
For a therapist, SEO mostly means writing the way your clients search. In their words. “Why can’t I sleep at night?” “I can’t stay calm with my baby.”
And you don’t need to spend thousands on a website designer to do it.
I’ll walk you through it live. Free training Go Cash Pay Without Social Media, Friday November 6 at 11amMT (1pmET, 12pmCT, 10amPT).

Okay this one is for my unhinged therapists🔥

So I lost $50,000 playing by insurance’s rules before I said enough. And getting out is a big deal. Your body needs a ritual that says the old life is over, even a silly one. Especially a silly one.

Which one are you doing first?? Tell me in the comments.

And I made you more. The Freedom Spell is 20 rituals plus the marketing magic to get you cash pay clients by the new year. Comment MAGIC and I’ll send it to you 🔮 by @risewithdrangie

This one is personal 🧠

For years I thought I was just bad at this. Back to back sessions, notes at night, and a tired that sleep did not fix.

And then I figured out I was masking all day. Holding eye contact and sitting still for 8 hours like a neurotypical therapist is supposed to.

Of course I burned out. The 50 minute model was never built for a brain like mine.

So I built my practice around my brain instead. Fewer clients and longer intensives. I work one day a week now.

If you’re a neurodivergent therapist who is so tired of pretending, comment BRAIN and I will send you my guide for ND therapists

Part 3 of me being done with Headway 🙃

They pulled the agreement for now. But I want you to see exactly what they tried to put in it. Because when the new version shows up you need to read every single page before you sign anything.

Your clients chose you. Not a marketplace.

If you’re on Headway and this one made your stomach drop, that’s your nervous system telling you something. You don’t have to leave tomorrow. But I want you to at least start building something they can’t touch.

Comment FREEDOM and I’ll send you guide to get cash pay by @risewithdrangie

$9.99 a session. For as long as you see that client. 🔥

I was so mad reading this.
Headway just added a marketplace fee. Every client who found you through their platform now costs you $9.99. Every session. Forever.

And they’re worth $2.38 billion.

So who’s building whose business here??

If you signed up because it felt like the safe option I get it. I played by insurance’s rules too and lost $50,000 before I finally said enough.
That’s on them, not you. This is what venture capital does. Free gets us in the door and then they take a cut. It’s bullshit.

I want you to run your own numbers. How many marketplace clients do you see a week? Multiply it by $9.99. Then by 48.
Sit with that number. Let the anger do its job.

Curious what your practice looks like when nobody’s taking a cut?
DM me FREEDOM and I’ll send you where to start.
