The creation of RDS was no easy task from having to deal with unwelcoming, racist Chinese government to town ruling mafia and then once open, all of a sudden being the boss of 20+ Chinese staff and over 50 young adult students from all over the world all while in my early 20’s still with a lot to learn myself! . I accomplished my original goals welcoming nearly every nationality and race you can think of to what I consider to be my home for training & self improvement! . We will never eliminate racism or ignorance from this world but we can certainly rise above it and avoid the people that choose the unfortunate path to hate because of a color difference or different belief to their own🀯 . I will continue to create family orientated and peaceful training facilities where culture, class, race or creed are left outside! . Your body follows what your mind has already decided. If you’re waiting to feel motivated, you’ll be waiting a long time. Decide, show up, repeat. That’s the whole secret. Straight arm strength is the foundation of everything you want to do on a bar or rings. Most training builds the bent arm: rows, pull-ups, push-ups, curls. Those are great, but in the Gravity Arena I’m working the other side of the picture, where the arms stay long and the whole body has to organise around them. Here’s why it matters. When your elbows are locked out, the load travels through your shoulders, scapulae, wrists and tendons instead of being muscled through by the biceps and triceps. That builds connective tissue strength and joint stability that bent arm work just doesn’t. It’s the difference between being strong in a rep and being strong in a position, and positions are what skills are made of: planche leans, front levers, back levers, handstands, even a clean muscle-up. You can’t cheat a straight arm hold. Either your shoulders are stacked and your body is tight, or you wobble and drop. That makes it perfect for teaching body awareness, and it carries over into wushu, taekwondo and parkour, where you need to control your weight through space with long levers. The catch is that tendons adapt slower than muscle, so it requires patience. Short holds, quality positions, consistent exposure. Progress feels small until suddenly it doesn’t. If you’ve only ever trained to bend your arms under load, try spending a few weeks keeping them straight. Your shoulders will tell you what’s been missing. #straightarmstrength #calisthenics #movementcoach #gravityarena bodyweighttraining planche frontlever shoulderhealth by @risingdragonschool

We spent the off-season bringing up Michelle’s weaker areas while maintaining her strengths, and the results speak for themselves and her best physique is taking shape. It’s quite a journey when I think back to her very first training session. No athletic background, no gym experience, just a complete beginner. From those early days to winning every competition she entered, earning her IFBB Pro Card in her second year of competing, and now preparing for her professional debut. We’ve built her physique from the ground up, year after year. Nothing rushed, no shortcuts. Just consistent training, discipline and hard work. Her dedication has never wavered, and it’s been incredible watching her develop into the athlete she is today. 8 weeks to go. The work continues. #IFBBPro #FigurePro #Bodybuilding #ContestPrep #IFBBCoach by @risingdragonschool
First pad work session at Rising Dragon School, and it was a good one. Coach Mark knows his stuff. He kept the rhythm tight, made the new techniques feel intuitive, and pushed me right to the edge of my skill level without letting my form go sloppy. That’s the difference between working hard and working smart. We trained in a proper ring, and finished with conditioning on their three big heavy bags to build some real power. He even wrapped my hands, and it was the most secure they’ve ever felt. Great coaching, great space. by @risingdragonschool
Rope climb. Looks brutal from the outside, and if you’ve ever stood under one wondering how anyone gets up it, fair enough, it is brutal if you try to take it on all at once. So we didn’t. First pass, feet only, no real muscular demand, just teaching the body the coordination before it’s ever asked to hold weight. Second pass, arms only, but feet stay grounded, so you’re building the pull without your whole bodyweight hanging off it. Two pieces of one big scary thing, made unscary. That’s the whole job of a coach, really. Not handing someone the hardest version and hoping they survive it, but finding where the edge of β€œhard but possible” actually sits for them, and building the staircase up to it instead of pointing at the summit and walking off. Feels right to be doing this at a school that’s been chasing the same question across five countries and nineteen years, one built by someone who’s still on the equipment himself every day, not just running it from the office. Exciting times what’s happening here in Bohol. More to come. by @risingdragonschool
