Mark Twain Prize Winners by Risko

Since 1998, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor has been held at the @kennedycenter in Washington D.C.

Each year, Iconic Images artist Robert Risko has created a portrait of the prize’s recipient, which is an individual who has followed in Twain’s footsteps and similarly impacted American society with their intelligent social commentary, humor and wit. Past winners have ranged from Richard Pryor and Whoopi Goldberg to Steve Martin and Carol Burnett.

In the run-up to the May 11th airing of the Mark Twain Awards on @netflix, we have made the pieces available now to purchase as fine-art prints via our website and our virtual Artsy gallery, both of which can be found via the link in our bio.

Limited edition, hand-signed and numbered by the artist, Risko’s fine-art prints are produced by his favored New York printer Tribeca Printworks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® paper, a white cotton artist’s paper renowned for its pleasingly soft texture and lightly-defined felt structure, adding dimensional quality and remarkable depth to every image.

Risko’s Mark Twain Prize winner!

Tonight the 25th Mark Twain Prize ceremony will air on @netflix with Kevin Hart receiving this year’s Prize for American Humor, awarded to an individual who has followed in Twain’s footsteps and similarly impacted American society with their intelligent social commentary, humour and wit.

Past winners have ranged from Richard Pryor and Whoopi Goldberg to Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler.

The awards have been held near-annually since 1998 at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Each year, Iconic Images artist Robert Risko has created a portrait of the prize’s recipient.

Fine-art prints of Robert’s annual portrait are now available via the Iconic Images Gallery website, and all of them can be viewed, read about and purchased at our virtual gallery space on Artsy.
