It’s been a little over 9 years…. I’ve never went back to our family cemetery and I certainly never visited where my dad is laid to rest and where his head stone sets. I found out a family member had passed away and he was to be buried at our cemetery. My heart sank, knowing I would have to deal with something I’ve put off for almost a decade. As we were driving closer, I see Francis Drive (my great grandpa’s name) and the next block, I see Paterson Drive (my grandma’s maiden name)…. I know what’s next…. Lillie Drive (my great grandma’s name) and the road where our cemetery is located. As we get out of the van, I try to stay busy, fixing my little girl’s bow and putting on my youngest son’s shoes….. trying to keep my mind occupied because if I think about it too much, I may not be able to go. It was so very hard for me but once I dried it up, we were able to take a photo. No matter what, your dad is always your dad, resolved or unresolved feelings. I love my dad and my only wish is that he could’ve seen my beautiful children. I know he would’ve been so very proud of them and me. I love you, Daddy. See you in heaven ❤️ by @rita_west_bencoma

Little Rod is headed to state. Super proud of the progress he’s made. He’s got a long way to go but wrestling is a marathon, not a sprint and he is progressing every week. 💪🏽❤️🤼 by @rita_west_bencoma
