2nd Annual Aiga Rugby Bowl - @aiga_rugby

Our daughter, @leina_poteki, 12yrs old - balled out this weekend with both the Middle School Girls and High School Girls teams. Nothing new for her, just doing what she loves, putting in the work, and growing with every opportunity she’s given.

Watching your passion, heart, and determination on the field is one of our greatest joys as your parents. We are so proud of you, baby. Keep chasing your dreams, stay humble, and never stop believing in yourself.

A huge thank you to @aiga_rugby , @rob.pahulu , @puafive , @fejeranpua , and the entire Aiga Rugby crew for putting together such an incredible event for our Polynesian rugby youth. Your time, dedication, and commitment to creating opportunities for these young athletes does not go unnoticed. The Poteki’s appreciate everything you do for our kids and our community.

First and foremost, all glory to God for continuing to open doors and create opportunities for Leina to experience things we could have only prayed for. We never take these moments for granted, and we are so thankful for His guidance, protection, and blessings over her journey.

A huge thank you as well to all of our family and friends who have donated and supported Leina’s Nationals / Rugby Club fundraisers these past few months to help get her here. We truly could not do this alone. It really takes a village, and we are beyond blessed to have family and friends who continue to pour into her, believe in her, pray over her, and support her dreams and opportunities. Your love and support mean more to our family than you will ever know.

@leina_poteki Watching you grow through this sport has honestly been one of my favorite things to witness.
6th grade and already out here fearless, growing, learning, competing, and just enjoying every part of this rugby journey. 💙💛

I’m so proud of the confidence, toughness, and heart you continue to build both on and off the field. Keep having fun, keep trusting yourself, and keep enjoying the process kiddo. This is only the beginning. 🏉

Thank you for being the best cousin/sister. You played a huge part in raising me as a kid to being an adult and being independent living together in San Diego. I truly would not be the woman that I am today if it wasn’t for you. You were THERE for me through our good and bad times, I will cherish all our memories together. This past Saturday, we celebrated our baby girl becoming a teenager. All Leina wanted was a pool party with her older and little cousins, close friends all her favorite foods. Seeing her so happy, surrounded by people who love her, meant everything to my husband and me. 🥹

I was so happy to see everyone together. To our family and friends who came from San Diego, Moreno Valley, and Modesto, thank you for making the trip and spending the day with us.

And a special thank you to @kelematinat @anass87 @mikaele444_ for helping us prep all the food. I couldn’t have done it without you guys. It means so much to know Leina has a village that shows up for her. We love you all so much.

Also thank you to our family who reached out to wish her a Happy Birthday. We are forever grateful. 🙏🏽
