How do Arabic people always smell THIS good?

It’s not one perfume. It’s a ritual.

Step 1. Burn oud chips on charcoal
Step 2. Apply musk oil on pulse points
Step 3. Layer 1 to 2 perfumes
Step 4. Finish with bakhoor on clothes and space

That’s how you create a scent trail, not just a scent.

Once you start layering like this… there’s no going back.

If wealth had a scent… these five bottles would define it.

✦ Blonde Amber – Clive Christian → liquid gold with manners & billionaires.
✦ Purpose 50 – Oman Luxury → incense-laden ambition & meditativeness.
✦ Layton Exclusif – Parfums de Marly → seductive dark vanilla elegance.
✦ Halfeti Leather – Penhaligon’s → old-money & estates worth millions.
✦ Portrait of a Lady – Frédéric Malle → unique, mysterious, unforgettable.

Fragrances that don’t chase attention ,they own the room.

What if you could describe a memory, a feeling, or even a person, and AI could turn it into a perfume? @algorithmicperfumery

At Beautyworld Middle East 2026, I came across New Human and their concept of Algorithmic Perfumery, and it genuinely made me curious about where the fragrance industry is heading.

The idea is fascinating. You give the system a prompt, it interprets your words into a fragrance formula, and you can experience a scent created around your imagination.

Don’t like something? Tweak it. Want to keep it? Save your formula and reorder your personal fragrance.

I also met Anahita, who kindly walked me through the process and explained how the technology works.

What interests me most isn’t just the convenience of creating a customised perfume. It’s the bigger question of what happens when technology enters an industry built on artistry, intuition, memory and the human nose.

Can AI become a creative partner to perfumers, or are we slowly moving towards replacing the very artistry that makes perfumery special?

You can experience New Human’s concept at Dubai’s Museum of the Future.

I’d love to know what you think. Would you let AI create your signature scent?

My first Beautyworld, one year later.

I realised I never really posted these properly.

Last year was my first time at Beautyworld, and looking through these now feels a little different because I’m getting ready to go back again.

There were perfumes everywhere, people I had only known online suddenly standing in front of me, brands I was discovering for the first time, and a lot of conversations that happened completely by chance.

Some moments were about fragrance. Some were about meeting people. Some were just me trying to take everything in.

And somehow, a whole year passed before these made it out of my camera roll.

So before Beautyworld 2026 starts, here’s a little look back at my first one.

Round two soon. by @ritiqa_recommends

Last SEPTEMBER ✨🌼 by @ritiqa_recommends

Come spend an afternoon with me in Dubai. ☕️

No itinerary, no “5 things you need to do in Dubai”, just a slightly random afternoon that somehow made perfect sense.

A little art at Jameel Arts Centre, a coffee rave, wandering around City Walk, and apparently discovering that coffee tastes better when there’s a DJ involved.

I’ve realised some of my favourite days aren’t really planned around doing something. You leave the house for one thing, end up somewhere completely different, and suddenly you’ve collected a tiny memory from your own city.

Anyway, more little slices of life like this? 🤎

Blind Buy Unboxing | Middle Eastern Edition.

Collecting perfumes has taught me one thing.

The excitement of buying fades.

The fragrance stays.

So I started this series to answer a question I don’t ask often enough:

If I experienced this perfume for the first time today, would I still add it to my collection?

No hype.
No nostalgia.
No “I already spent the money.”

Just an honest first impression.

For this edition, I’m opening a fragrance from my Middle Eastern collection, a collection that’s completely changed how I look at perfumery since moving to Dubai.

Did this bottle earn its place on the shelf?

Let’s find out.

What should I blind unbox next?
