It’s Monaco Race Week! This race marks one year since @mclarenf1 reached out to work together on a series of animations capturing what would become their Championship season. From yachts and castles to sparkling waters and neon lights, animating the 2025 F1 season offered some really fun modeling challenges and I had a blast fine tuning the racing dynamics of the little MCL39s. This year’s F1 Monaco GP marks McLaren’s 1000th Grand Prix, so I wanted to celebrate with an edit of clips from the Ritter Goods Archives. by @ritter.goods

To enter for a chance to win, simply drop a comment below letting me know which car you’d like to see next in the Ritter Goods Archive line of 1/43 detailed scale models. We’ve currently got a few cars in development, but I’m curious to see what you’ll come up with. On Friday 5/15, I’ll pick the lucky winner to receive a limited edition signed print of the rally Peugeot 205 T16.As you scroll through the carousel, you can also check out the work that went into my Group B Rally animation. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to model the awesome support vans that followed the 205 T16s around the various rally stages. by @ritter.goods

3/6 - the perfect excuse to draw up some of my favorite BMW E36 M3s. The boxy wonder is so versatile that it looks good as a shiny street car, a low slung touring car, or a giant beefy GT car. Which do you prefer? • This project largely began as an effort to model my own version of the Zeal BMW E36 because so few photos of it exist…but then I got carried away and I started rendering a bunch of others along with it 😅. I’m having a ton of fun with my art recently. by @ritter.goods

If you could pick just ONE MK1 VW Rabbit / Golf…which style are you going with? • Part of what I loved about the Volkswagen community was that it allowed a canvas for so many unique styles…and a few times a year they’d come together to celebrate the marque they all loved. Let me know which of these represents your style best…or what you’d do differently. by @ritter.goods

Our project BMW 2002 is finally complete! Flip back through the build progress as Milton installs the parts that you all voted for. The project got caught in the ol’ Bodyshop Blackhole for a bit, but we finally have the BMW 2002 back and shining in its new paint on the last two slides. Bumper or bumper-less? The jury is still out on that one. • I had a lot of fun compiling this throwback, so let me know if you’d want to try another community build? We’ll try to be quicker this time, haha. by @ritter.goods

Giant tires are just UNDENIABLY cool. It transcends any automotive genre, trend, or niche. From young kids to retirees, nearly any car-lover will agree…monster trucks are RAD ⚡️ I’ve long dreamt of bringing them into the Ritter Goods world, so naturally, I had to start with the father of all monster trucks, Bob Chandler and @bigfoot4x4x4 . Often eclipsed by the technical marvels of Bigfoot 4, Bigfoot 3 is still one of my favorite iterations, standing as the perfect combination of chrome-laden looks and brute force. It was the last production-vehicle based monsters before the Stage 2 era kicked in, and it represents those early years so well. Sitting atop 66” tires, the Bullnose Ford bodywork looks incredible and it deserved to be the first truck I modeled. I’ll dive deeper into some of the technical details in a future post…but for now, join me in the 80s stadium energy and take in the power of Bigfoot 3 ⚡️ by @ritter.goods

Challenge yourself • Pixar has an interesting principle to take on projects knowing that there’s one large element to the project that they haven’t solved yet. Hair physics, water refraction, fur dynamics, etc. They view each movie as the chance to really focus and learn that one challenge so they can carry it forward into all future projects. To start a project in discomfort and overcome it with increased knowledge is perhaps the most fun part of a learning journey so I’ve tried to embrace a similar path. I say all of that because this project, for example, was my first project truly tackling ‘patina’. Based on a well worn and raced Bugatti that we often photographed in the paddocks, I dove into aging the chrome, crackling old, dried-out leather, hammering the single stage paint, and pitting some of the alloy. I’m quite pleased with the outcome and now I’ve prepared myself for any time a new project calls for a little sprinkle of patina. by @ritter.goods

I’ve never done one of these artist profiles, but one of my goals for this new year is to get back to sharing more of the process and background of my work…so here it goes. I think the pace of today’s content stream can lead artists to burnout, so last year I focused more on my artwork and tried to give it room to come together naturally and reach its full potential. So, while I posted less, 2025 was a really busy one in the studio (as evidenced by the fact that some of these artworks haven’t seen the light of day…yet, haha). The year was defined by lessons in animating, refining Milton and bringing him to life, F1 races with @mclaren , and kicking off a collaboration with @kremer.racing . Last year marked the fifth year since leaving my job to pursue this vision full time and I’m grateful for all of you that have joined me as I chase my dream in the Ritter Goods world. Let me know what sort of thing you’d like to see this year…whether it’s a certain stage in my process, a specific car, or a race series you love. We’ll have some fun this year and I’ve got some exciting things in store 🏁 by @ritter.goods

One last day to save 20% OFF artwork like this in my webstore! • I realized I haven’t posted this full image yet, but it’s perhaps one of my favorite stills I’ve created this year. It captures the @kremer.racing 1973 2.8 RSK launching over the iconic crest of the Nürburgring 1000km race. Kremer competed in the 1973 European GT Championship with the RSK and came out on top against a strong field of competitors. • I was so pleased with how the lighting and texture came out on this one…that bokeh to the right gets me every time. It’s one of those art pieces that really shines when you’re holding it in hand and you’re able to see all of the little details/textures that I worked on to make it feel like a real piece of the Ritter Goods Archives. by @ritter.goods

The benefit of being a “little more advanced in age” is that Milton’s hoarding tendencies have been balanced with the opportunity to snatch up sports cars in their moment of under-appreciation for just pennies on the dollar. Matched with his borderline aggressive apathy towards resale values and auction results, his collection continues to grow as he fervently clutches to relics of car enthusiasm • Today, as the roads sit quiet on a Thanksgiving holiday, Milton took advantage of the crisp fall air in his hillclimb Bugatti Type. Its patina and seemingly irreverent livery remain untouched by the 35’s relatively newfound luxury pricing, and touch back to the era when these were seen as approachable little race cars. • Milton and I are so thankful for your continued support of the Ritter Goods Archives and our artwork. We can’t thank you enough. I hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving with your friends and loved ones! by @ritter.goods

From Monaco to Singapore, I’ve had a blast working with @mclaren on a set of F1 animations this season, their Championship season 🏁 With each animation comes a ton of background work that often whizzes by, so I wanted to do a little photo dump of the process that I love so much. In there, you’ll see me rigging up physics for the complex, but very visible F1 suspension arms…then Monaco came with a special livery unveiling, and my first attempt at modeling boats…followed by the sun setting on Singapore where I focused on lighting and the beautiful architecture that graces their city. Let me know if you have any questions about the process, animations, render times, etc…I’d love to chat about it 🤙🏼 by @ritter.goods
