I had the recent opportunity to give a talk on Stress Moves & Your Enneagram Type Under Pressure. This was the topic of my last newsletter as well.

The Gifts Hidden in Your Enneagram Stress Patterns

The Enneagram’s power lies in its dynamism—we don’t just have a type, we move within the system. When stress hits, each type unconsciously adopts strategies from another number, revealing both hidden strengths and blind spots.

Why Stress Movements Matter

These shifts are temporary survival mechanisms, not permanent changes. For example:

• Type 9s borrow Type 6’s Vigilance: They gain hyper-vigilance but risk overthinking.
• Type 3s adopt Type 9’s Calm: They slow down but may disengage.
• Type 7s mirror Type 1’s Focus: They become decisive but overly critical.

Every Stress Number Holds a Paradox:

✨ The Gift:
A skill you didn’t know you had (e.g., Type 2’s assertiveness as Type 8)

👤 The Shadow:
A trap to watch for (e.g., Type 4’s people-pleasing as Type 2)

Your Stress Number Cheat Sheet:

1 → 4 | Creative but Self-Critical
2 → 8 | Bold but Controlling
3 → 9 | Calmer but Checks Out
4 → 2 | Helpful but Loses Self
5 → 7 | Spontaneous but Scattered
6 → 3 | Confident but Workaholic
7 → 1 | Focused but Perfectionist
8 → 5 | Strategic but Isolated
9 → 6 | Alert but Anxious

As I sit here in my Dolly T-shirt, toasting tonight to one of the finest examples of a human being I’ve known in my lifetime, I can’t help but sing a few of her tunes while I spill a tear or two for the passing of a true national treasure.

Dolly was extraordinary, of course. The voice. The songs. The rhinestones. That hair. The wit.

But what I loved most about Dolly was the person underneath all of it.

She knew exactly who she was. She never apologized for being too much, too feminine, too ambitious, too glamorous, too funny, too anything. She could walk into a room looking like a human disco ball and somehow make you feel more comfortable being yourself.

She understood something I think we spend far too much of our lives trying to learn:

You don’t have to become less of yourself to be taken seriously.

You can be brilliant and ridiculous. Tender and bawdy. Ambitious and generous. You can build an empire and still laugh at yourself. You can change people’s lives and wear rhinestones while doing it.

And maybe that’s part of why so many of us loved her so fiercely.

Dolly made being fully, unapologetically yourself look not only possible, but like a hell of a lot of fun.

So tonight, I’m raising a glass to Dolly.

Thank you for the songs. Thank you for the laughter. Thank you for the big hair and the even bigger heart. Thank you for showing us what it looks like to become more of yourself, not less.

I will always love you. 🦋📚💖🎶🌈 by @ritualenneagram

There’s a woman you know, hell maybe you are her, who is brilliant, battle-tested, and done shrinking.

She’s leaving. Not because she failed. but because she finally stopped pretending the system was going to see her.

This week I wrote about the Maven Exodus: why the most capable, whole, and deeply human women are walking away from spaces that were never built for them and what they’re building instead.

Are you still fighting from inside the system, or building something new outside it? Both are valid. Neither requires permission.

Every Enneagram type carries a quiet sentence they’d never say out loud.

No one really knows me.
No one protects me.
No one sees me.

These sentences are usually untrue. They’re also the ones we most deeply believe and spend our whole lives trying to disprove.

I wrote this substack about the heartbreaking lie at the core of each type.

The second half of life doesn’t ask you to shine less. It asks you to shine differently. 🌞

Jung called it the inward turn. That quiet shift where the old ways of feeling safe, desired, and connected start to feel hollow — not because something is wrong with you, but because you’re ready for something truer.

In this piece I explore what Jung and the Enneagram reveal about midlife, instinct, and what it actually means to come home to yourself.

You’ve been “researching” for months. You’ve looked at the visas, scrolled listings in Mexico, Portugal, Spain, France, and imagined the espresso in Italy. ☕️

But are you actually any closer to moving?

Most people get stuck in “Research Addiction.” They have 50 tabs open but zero plane tickets booked.

That’s why we created the Escape Plan Bootcamp. It’s a 4-day live experience designed to take you from “vague dream” to a “one-page execution plan.”

Full disclosure: I’m not just sharing this—I am one of the Move Abroad Coaches in this program! I’m on the inside helping people like you do the same. If you join us, there’s a good chance we’ll be working together to figure out your path.

The Roadmap:

Day 1: Design the lifestyle you’re actually moving for.

Day 2: Choose a country (and visa) that actually works for you.

Day 3: The Money. How to fund it and make your income work.

Day 4: The Execution. How to move in a year or less.

The Price: $37. (The best “yes” you’ll ever give your future self.)

Imbolc + Brigid’s Day + A full moon
This is not the season of blooming.
It is the season of becoming.

Imbolc sits at the threshold between winter and spring. Not the proof yet, just the promise. The spark inside the seed. The warmth returning before we can see it.

I wrote about this moment, why timing matters, and why so much of our real work happens quietly, internally, long before anything shows.

You are not late.
You are not behind.
You are incubating.

The article is live on Substack if you want to meet this season with intention, ritual, and trust 🌕🥛✨

This week left many of us carrying unbearable anger. Not the explosive kind, but the quiet, righteous kind that lives in the body when something is wrong.

This essay is about women’s anger, autonomy, and what we’ve been taught to swallow in order to stay palatable. The problem isn’t angry women. It’s how much we’re asked to carry alone.

I also explore this through my own lens as a Gut type and a Type 9, and how my particular Enneagram wiring shapes my relationship to anger. Link in bio. by @ritualenneagram

I thought I knew myself well.
Then I noticed where I hesitated.

In my latest Substack, I share the eight questions that made me pause and what they revealed about autonomy, identity, fear, leadership, and being willing to be misunderstood.

This is not about getting the right answers.
It’s about listening to what your first answer is trying to protect.

Hey Friends,

It’s been a really hard time for so many of us—whether you’re stressed out about work, relationships, or the general anxiety swirling around the world right now.

Sometimes, these moments are exactly when we need to turn inward. To get grounded. To prepare ourselves for what comes next. Because here’s the truth: some of our biggest growth happens in these liminal spaces—the “in-between“ where old patterns end, and new ways of being begin.

If you’re feeling the weight of this moment, I’d love to help. Let’s connect you with your clarity and confidence.

Your stress has a pattern. Let’s decode it together. The chaos you feel? It’s not random. The Enneagram reveals:
• Why you react to stress the way you do
• How to break cycles that aren’t serving you
