These past 2 years I’ve thought/reflected almost everyday on the transformational blessing it was to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I vividly remember dreading coming home and finishing my time on my mission, because I loved being a full-time missionary for Jesus Christ with all my heart! Now it’s been 2 years since being back and I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world!

As I look back and reflect, of all the words I could use to describe what my mission meant to me, above all is “gratitude”. The ability to teach my brothers and sisters, that are apart of our Heavenly family, brought a different sense of meaning and purpose to my life.

As I think about the beginning of my mission, I swiftly learned that it was never about me, it was only and always about our Saviors incomparable Atonement and helping the children of our Heavenly Father who were lost in a mist of darkness access His ultimate power through baptism. Teaching those that were lost, confused, or misled not only taught me the simple truths of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ but revealed to me the undenying power of our Savior Jesus Christ!

I know as an absolute fact that during Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice, He stood in our place, suffering and paying the penalty for our sins. Although we are imperfect and fall short over and over again, there is more grace, love, and mercy in Jesus Christ than there is failure, flaw, or sin in us. I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which I will PRAISE His name FOREVER!! (Alma 26:12)
