New Exhibit Incoming! Look At Me: Portraits from the Weir Collection Soft opening: November 21, 2026 This exciting exhibition, developed from the permanent collection, includes portraits RiverBrink founder Samuel E. Weir collected over his lifetime, along with several posthumous acquisitions. The genre of portraiture held an enduring interest for Weir, evidenced by the number and variety of portraits he acquired, and by his support for the establishment of a National Portrait Gallery in Canada. Weir was one of a number of art patrons who sought to develop a gallery to house portraits of prominent Canadians. The project ultimately faltered, and to date a National Portrait Gallery remains elusive. Image: Archibald George Barnes, PORTRAIT OF A MODEL, n.d Oil on canvas by @riverbrink_museum
