Breakfast with friends hits a whole lot harder when the Deschutes is rushing past your table and the mimosas are already flowing. 🌊🥂 🍳

I met up with two of my brunch besties @bendoregonwithali and Jess @booksandchow for a fantastic riverside patio dining experience @currentsbend , and clearly, we understood the assignment 😎☀️🍴

🥂 BFK + a Classic Mimosa & Mocha to get things started.

🍳 Classic Eggs Benedict with house-cured back bacon, poached eggs, lemon hollandaise and Currents breakfast potatoes.

🍗 Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Biscuit stacked with a sunny-side egg, cheddar, country sausage gravy, bacon and scallions. Rich, crispy, savory goodness.

🥞 Buttermilk Pancakes with candied bacon, maple cream cheese and Vermont maple syrup. Fluffy, sweet, salty perfection.

🌿 Sweet Potato Benedict with black bean purée, spinach, tomato, poached eggs and lemon hollandaise. Bright, hearty and seriously satisfying.

Great food, great company, and still one of my favorite patios in Central Oregon. 🌊☀️🥂

Finally made it to CURRENTS at the Riverhouse with my family last week after hearing so many good things about the patio.

It’s right on the Deschutes River in Bend, and we lucked out, it was a beautiful night to sit outside.

We ordered a variety from the dinner menu and shared everything: caramelized onion dip, steak bites with gouda fondue, the burger with a great char, and the wild Alaskan halibut special with romesco.

My favorite bite of the night was the heirloom tomato with buffalo mozzarella and basil. Simple, peak tomato season, and so good.

I also tried the Lavender Lemon Drop and the Purple Peak with huckleberry vodka.

We happened to arrive at the tail end of happy hour, which runs until 6 PM, so that’s worth knowing if you’re looking for a Bend happy hour with river views.

Such a great first visit. Good food, a beautiful setting, and one of those Bend patios that reminds me why I love this corner of Oregon so much.
