🇬🇩🥃 DEX & LEE MINI SERIES — RIVER ANTOINE RUM DISTILLERY

Allyuh, this stop was more than just a rum tour… this was like stepping straight into living Grenadian history! ❤️💛💚

Dex & Lee travelled up to River Antoine in St. Patrick to visit the legendary @riversrum River Antoine Estate, where rum has been produced since 1785, making it the oldest continuously operating rum distillery in Grenada.

What really blew we mind was seeing how much of the original process is still preserved today. 🌿⚙️🥃

The sugar cane is crushed using the historic water-powered mill. The famous waterwheel, installed in 1840, is still working today, powering the machinery that squeezes fresh juice from the cane — one of the Caribbean’s most incredible surviving examples of traditional rum production.

And it doh stop there! 👀

The fresh cane juice moves through the distillery using gravity before heading to the boiling house to be concentrated. Even the leftover crushed cane, known as bagasse, is reused as fuel during the process. 🔥🌱

From there, the juice goes through fermentation and traditional distillation before becoming the powerful, unmistakable Rivers Rum Grenadians know so well. 🇬🇩🥃

And of course… we had to taste both! 😂🔥
