The average human body is about 50-60% water. I think that’s why we are so drawn to it 💙💧💙. We immersed ourselves in @tommiddletonmusic 360deg spatial sound session on Saturday @polygonportal for Attend>Water. It was super, from looking into the eye of a whale to jumping out my seat at the sound of ice cracking.

We’re delighted to be part of a huge community effort to bring water voles back to the River Wey - where they were locally extinct - from the South Downs to the Thames.

This September 300 nationally endangered water voles have returned to some of Surrey’s most beautiful riverside habitats between Frensham and Elstead, including Surrey Wildlife Trust’s Thundry Meadows, the Hampton estate, Countryside Regeneration Trust’s Pierrepont Farm, The Land Trust’s Weyburn Meadows and people’s gardens along the river.

It’s the latest stage in this ambitious nature programme to bring back the water vole, led by the National Trust, River Wey Trust and South East Rivers Trust, and funded by the Environment Agency.

Surveys, wildlife cameras and eDNA testing have shown the water voles settling in successfully on the upper stretches of the River Wey following reintroductions last autumn and spring.

Nature wins when we work together. Thank you @nationaltrust @envagency @riverweytrust @southeastriverstrust @rewildingcoombeshead @surreywildlifetrust @hampton_estate @thelandtrust_ @crtwildlife @blackdownhindheadntsupporters @southeastnt

If you are joining my fresh water test kit demonstration today then head straight to @zerocarbonguildford. I’ve taken the water sample, so we can stay dry and I can demonstrate in the lab. 💙💧💙. (We did want rain, so I’m not complaining)

Come try out the @the_waterrangers fresh water test kit, see our community lab and learn more about what we are up to. Hands on, genuinely fun, and a nice way to meet people who care about the same things you do.

We’ll go through the kit together step by step, no experience needed, just curiosity about what’s actually in the water near you.

Sign up through the @zerocarbonguildford My Impact page or email alex@waterrangers.com to grab a spot.
