Our friend and cozy art streamer @galacticatstudios is celebrating 6 years on Twitch. She invited others to draw her lovely character Astro in our own styles! I couldn't not take part! 🤭

A hero in all of us 💕This speech from Spider-man 2 was running through my mind today, apropos of nothing.

Spent my night doing a cozy watercolours session recreating two characters from my favourite new Disney Dreamlight Valley update - Pooh and Piglet!

I'll be playing DDV again over on Twitch tomorrow around 5pm AEST where we will be fundraising for Hope for the Day! We'll be fundraising towards mental health education and crisis support & there will be game key giveaways for each $50 donated.

Come hang out if you need a cozy space to be 💕

I love packing art to send to art loving friends. I've started including a print and a sketch card in orders recently and have had such excited reactions. But the joy is all mine. Knowing that art is going to those that love it, that it's having a forever home is a huge joy for me.

Weather it's portraits, cute animals or landscapes - I'm going to paint as much as I can.

If you'd like to peruse original art pieces feel free to come say hi at rivvycreates.com or to enquire for commissions feel free to drop a line at rivvycreates@gmail.com

We paint live each week at twitch.tv/rivvycreates

One of my favourite recent paintings - I took a day to decompress and sat quietly just really enjoying the process. Each little circle in the middle, careful paint strokes for the shadows.

Flowers are so fun to draw - the shapes and colours 🌻

What's a flower I should paint next?

Happy Sunday! Sharing a cute fox painting I recently did. I love doing paintings just for me, something between the commissions that keeps me from going rusty hehe.

🏳️‍⚧️ Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility - a day to celebrate, uplift, and stand in solidarity with the trans and gender-diverse community 🏳️‍⚧️

We chatted to @stigmafreestreamers fundraiser @rivvycreates - they kindly shared some of their story with us, including how their neurodiversity and gender identity intersect.

For a community that is often underrepresented, today is about taking up space, being seen, and being heard. Trans and gender-diverse people experience higher rates of mental ill-health, but that’s not because of their gender - it’s because of the discrimination, barriers, and challenges they face in society. That’s why visibility, understanding, and safe spaces matter. 💙

When trans people are seen, heard, and supported, they can thrive as their true, authentic selves. We can all play our part in creating safe spaces for the trans community, this in turn will help reduce rates of mental ill-health.

If you need to chat, there’s always help available. You can reach out to one of these support services;

Christine Jorgenson

First trans person in the U.S. to successfully undergo gender affirmation surgery in 1952

When asked about the attention she received for living her life authentically, Jorgensen said, “I was surprised that everyone seemed very interested in my life…time went on and I realized this was an important step in the eyes of the world.”

A fairly solid first serious attempt using acrylic paint on canvas. 9.5 star experience would use again.
As always doing the final white highlight dot on eyes is my favorite life experience.

Subject: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

What should I paint next?

A piece from earlier in the year. I love using certain pieces to create encouragement, to affirm and to show kindness.

So far I've done a froggie and a red panda. What's your favorite animal? Let's gather more ideas for encouraging animals 💕

Something a little different this week. A viewer and friend gifted me Himi Gouache so I did this red panda to test out the paint. I love them!!!

Rest is important. Self care is important.
