🔥 No better time than the fall feeding frenzy to put some new prototypes and concepts to the test!

It was an awesome outing and a great chance to see how some of our new ideas actually performed on the water.

After seeing the results, we’re pretty damn excited about what we’ve got coming for next season. 👀

We think you guys are going to like what we’ve been working on. by @rizingrivers

WIPERS LESS THEN 2 HOURS FROM MILWAUKEE 👀

Ever since our trip down South and our first experience targeting wipers, we haven’t been the same. 😂 There’s just something about these fish. The power, the fight, and the way they absolutely smash a lure. Ever since that trip, we’ve been on the hunt for another chance at them.

The problem? Wisconsin stopped stocking wipers, and finding them around here can be extremely difficult. So after countless hours of research, we finally discovered something that got our attention…

We knew immediately that trip had to happen. The best part? It could be done in a single day. So early last Saturday morning, we packed up and headed out on the mission.

This lake we went to was completely new to us. It was once used as a cooling lake for a power plant, and from shore, finding structure and vegetation was nothing like the lakes we normally fish.

But you guys know us… we had to pull flies. We could launch our bucktails what felt like a mile and slowly work them across the lake, giving ourselves the best chance of finding the fish we came for.

And then the confusion started. 😂 We started catching fish that we thought were wipers, but the pattern threw us off as it also looked like very silver colored yellow bass lol

Then, finally, we hooked into something that fought completely different.

OUR FIRST WIPER.

We could tell almost immediately with the line pattern, body shape, and fight that it was the fish we came here for.

After all the research, planning, driving, and hours of casting, we had finally done it.

We only landed ONE… but honestly, that one fish made the entire trip worth it.

And now we know wipers can be found just a few hours from the Milwaukee area. 👀

We will definitely be going back again soon!!!! by @rizingrivers

LAKE WINNEBAGO WHITE BASS ARE ON FIRE!
We made a trip up to the Oshkosh area this week to fish the Fox River and Lake Winnebago after hearing reports that the white bass were running heavy — and the reports were absolutely right!
The fish were on an incredible feeding frenzy, with some of the best action we’ve seen in a while. We caught all our fish within just a few hours, with action coming on nearly almost every cast. The majority of the fish were strong, healthy adult white bass averaging around 14 inches.
They weren’t too picky either as we caught fish on several different fly colors. But when the bite is this good, we stuck with our favorite universal baitfish color that being white!!!
After a great morning on the water, we were happy to donate our catch to a local fisherman who was fishing right next to us and could put the fish to good use.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to get outside, this is it! The white bass are biting, the fish are feeding, and it’s a great time to be on the water around Lake Winnebago and the Fox River.
Get out there, enjoy the outdoors, and go get ’em!

One of the many emerald shiners we accidently snagged yesterday while figuring out what the fish were keyed in on. 👀

Now we’re thinking we might have to make a fly in a similar baitfish pattern!!!

What do you guys think? Should we match this color, or is there another baitfish pattern you’d like to see?

Drop your ideas below! 👇

It’s been a little quiet around here lately, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes! Today we finally got the chance to hit the water, and the Rock River system has been producing some great fishing! 🎣

With all this rain, the walleyes have been going crazy! We had a bunch of fish hooked-up with most being over 18" today. 🔥

We’ve also been keeping busy working on next year’s fly releases, and we know you guys are going to love what we’ve been putting together! 👀

It definitely feels good to be back on the water. Stay tuned — we’ve got a lot coming! 🤘

The Rizing Rivers "TruFlow" Bucktail Spinners have been absolutely smashing the White Bass lately, and they have been flying out the door, so we’re working on a restock now. Most should be back on the website later tonight.

Thanks for all the support! 🤘

🎣 Rock River White Bass Update🎣

For those who haven't been out lately, there's still a lot of quality-sized white bass being caught throughout the Rock River system!

While the fish are more scattered than they were a few weeks ago, we're still finding a solid bite from early morning through mid-afternoon. It seems the white bass have been heavily focused on baitfish, making minnow-style presentations the key to catching them. For us simple White and or our Bleeding Shad bucktail flies have been producing consistently and continue to be two of our top-performing patterns.

Tip: Keep an eye out for schools of baitfish. Most of our bites have come by casting right into or around those bait schools, where hungry white bass are actively feeding. If you can find the bait, there's a good chance the white bass won't be far behind.

There's nothing quite like the excitement of a school of aggressive white bass crushing a bucktail flies!!! So if you've been thinking about getting back on the water, now is still a great time. Get outside, enjoy the beautiful weather, and make a few more summer memories before this bite begins to slow.

Good luck, and as always—tight lines!!! by @rizingrivers

Today was one of those fishing days were the white bass were biting great, and we were fortunate enough to stay on them all morning. While we were fishing, we met a local father named Rogelio Garcia and his son, who were having a hard time figuring out what the fish were feeding on.

We had noticed the white bass were keyed in on the small minnows just under the surface, with fish occasionally blowing up on baitfish every once and a while. We offered to show them the setup that had been working for us and helped tie on a rig with a white bucktail fly.

On Regelio’s very first cast, he hooked into a really nice whitebass.

From that point on, he and his son were catching white bass almost every other cast. Regelio told us that, even after living in the area for many years, he had never tried this style of fishing before. He was surprised by how simple the setup was and how effective it could be.

What made the moment even better was watching him teach his son what he had just learned. Before long, they were both hooking into fish, laughing, learning, and enjoying an amazing day on the water together.

They told us they plan to keep using this setup in the future, and we hope it brings them many more great days of fishing.

Moments like this are a big part of why we continue doing what we do at Rizing Rivers. Fishing is not only about catching fish. It is also about sharing knowledge, helping others, and creating memories with people in the community.

We are grateful we had the opportunity to share the experience with them today. by @rizingrivers

Spinners are one of those lures that just flat-out works!!!

They cast great, cover water fast, throw plenty of flash, and can be fished through rivers, lakes, current, and open water. When fish are spread out or chasing reaction bites, a spinner is a reliable way to find them.

Simple lures always produce!
