[May I Never Give Up on My Purpose – Incepto ne desistam]

When I was five years old, my Dad and my Mom gave me the "freedom" to act as I wished. That was when I discovered my true self and my love for performing in front of others: I was trained not to be shy when speaking, not to be shy when singing, and even to be unafraid to perform in theatre. Now, at my current age, I understand that “freedom” is not merely about speaking, singing, or acting — it is also about taking action.

Today, I act as a young forester in the midst of this chaotic world — a world of forests, food, people, policy, and sustainability. In 2023 and 2024, I took part in the @world_food_forum Flagship Event as a speaker at side events, sharing my work in forestry to promote agrifood system transformation. I met leaders, dreamers, and people with noble visions. The most beautiful part was meeting them in those small side-event rooms, exchanging knowledge and ideas.

But this year, things are different. For the first time, I stood upon a grand stage — the stage of the United Nations @fao. Before, I had seen some of these leaders in smaller rooms; now, I could look upon them from a platform that holds the dreams of many. I smiled, I glowed, and I made peace with the splendour of that moment.

Yet I did not stop there. I did not merely gaze at them on the first day; I also spoke at a side events to share what I could contribute, for I drastically believe that the good we offer today is both a normative and empirical investment — one that can never be monetised. Would you agree?

My visit to Rome this year deepened my understanding of the saying “all roads lead to Rome”, and I was delighted to find truth in it. I take it to mean that one must set forth bravely to chase one’s dreams and noble ambitions — there is no path that cannot be travelled with determination. My path is in forestry: I come for the forest, I see for the forest, and I conquer for the forest — all to ensure the transformation of agrifood systems.

Thus, May I never give up on my purpose.

[Daje Roma Daje]

Can you imagine that all roads lead to Rome (ada seribu jalan menuju Roma) is real and I made it this year? Yes, this is real of Rome tho! I came here for participating a prestigious forum, World Food Forum (WFF) Flagship Event 2023 by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

However, attending a forum probably will be easy for particular people, but completely not for me. After a couple of optimistic scrambles finally I got opportunity representing one of the largest youth-led forestry organisations, @ifsadotnet at the WFF Flagship Event 2023, Rome, Italy. It was my second European country I ever been visited after Germany. Rome with its romantic and artistic looks, yet inside we discussed fantastic topic: food system transformation.

As a young forestry student, I do believe that forest and trees are essential in transforming the food system. Combining trees with food crops, plants and animals (as in agroforestry systems) can help diversify and increase agricultural production while providing additional economic, social and environmental benefits to land users as mentioned by the IFSA Statement.

As part of IFSA commitment to be at the forefront of forestry youth development, openly emphasising the roles of forest in food system transformation and adaptation; and representing youth voices at global youth platforms, I chosen to be a speaker together with FAO, WFF, Youth Delegates from Italy and Ireland, Giulia Tariello and David Giles, IAAS, ACT4FOOD, YPARD, YOUNGO, and others. We discussed about youth-led agroforestry, youth action for resilient foodscapes, and empowering local youth action to drive global agrifood transformation as part of National Chapters within three different collaborative side events.

As final, we drastically would like to translate WFF Flagship Event 2023 resolution into local action: connecting, educating, and empowering the next generation of youth based on IFSA Strategy document. Indeed, we genuinely recognise that we have many brilliant ideas to implement it but without collaborative action from global to grassroots vice versa, it means nothing. taken in Rome, Italy by @rizkaafeef

[Qısaca Şuşa, Təşəkkürlər Azərbaycan]

One month ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the OIC Youth Capital 2024 in Shusha, Azerbaijan. It was my first time visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan particularly Shusha, and I was thoroughly impressed by the country's beauty and cultural richness. A highlight of my visit was witnessing the Ministry of Youth and Sport's strong commitment to advancing the youth agenda. Their dedication to empowering young people and fostering a supportive environment for youth initiatives is truly inspiring.

As a forestry enthusiast, it was inspiring to witness Azerbaijan's unwavering support for youth movements and climate action initiatives. The event highlighted the vital role of youth, emphasising that "youth" is a golden investment deserving the backing of governments, businesses, communities, and the youth themselves. I am grateful for the experience and motivated to continue contributing to sustainable and impactful change!

My gratitude goes to the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan for this special invitation to attend OIC Youth Capital 2024. I love Shusha and I look forward to seeing the positive impact of their efforts! taken in Shusha Azerbaijan by @rizkaafeef

Diorama Bumantara Tembagapura

Sukses dan hormat, Papua! taken in Freeport Indonesia by @rizkaafeef

Berkisah Bersama Semeru Baharu

Kemudian, kami pulang bergulana. taken in Condro - Pasirian by @rizkaafeef
