For as long as I can remember, I’ve been making images.

But when I look back, one thing stands out: almost a decade ago, I started this journey with a tiny, often borrowed GoPro. It was all I had, but somehow, it was enough to make me chase moments I never thought I’d get to capture.

Over the years, GoPro evolved. And so did I.

From mountains and snow to bikes, snowboards, speed and everything in between, @gopro has been there for some of the most unique images I’ve made. It taught me to see differently, to be closer to the action, take risks and, somewhere along the way, become a better photographer.

I’ve been making images for more than a decade now. Yet, I still barely call myself a photographer.

Maybe because I’m still learning. Still chasing. Still looking for that next frame.

On #WorldPhotographyDay, here’s a look back at a decade of seeing the world through a #GoPro.

Every image in this carousel was shot on a GoPro over the past decade. #ShotOnGoPro #goproindiachallenge taken in Planet Earth by @rizzaalee

Mountains. Majestic, unchanging, and eternal. They’ve always been there, steadfast and silent witnesses to our fleeting existence. Words fail me when I try to capture the depth of my love and passion for nature—it’s more than admiration; it’s a bond, a lifeline. In my darkest moments, when the world felt too heavy to bear, nature stood by me. Unwavering. Undemanding. A constant source of peace and purpose.

The mountains have been my greatest teacher. They ask for nothing, yet give so much. They’ve shaped me, molded me, and guided me from my roots in a small, humble village to daring to dream of conquering the world’s highest peak—Mount Everest.

If there’s one truth I hold close, one lesson I wish to share, it’s this: the mountains teach us to be humble. In their presence, our egos crumble, and we’re reminded of the beauty in simplicity, the power in perseverance, and the strength in silence.

This journey is more than a dream; it’s a tribute to the boundless spirit of nature and the enduring resilience it has instilled in me. I’m grateful to my friends and family that includes my sponsors who allow me to chase my dreams.

I was recently honored to be invited as a keynote speaker at one of the first international TEDx conference held at the University of Kashmir in Srinagar which drew around 250 students and noted personalities from across various fields. My talk, 'Reaching the Heights Within' focused on my journey as a teen bullied at school for being "different," and through my ongoing struggle with mental health challenges, I found an escape to nature. Nature has always provided me with the overwhelming feeling of peace and reflective silence to be able to hear the voice inside. It took climbing the world's highest mountain for me to reach deeper heights within.

Sometimes I miss New York like I miss a person.

Life has been a lot lately, for me and @shidanmajidi9, and we haven’t been able to make it back to the city. I used to call New York my second home, and honestly, I miss it more than I can put into words. This city has been a really important part of my life.

I hope things settle down soon. I can’t wait to be back. taken in New York City by @rizzaalee

Editing from my phone just got a lot more interesting.

Adobe Premiere is now available on Android, which means I can shoot something out in the mountains, come back with a bunch of footage, and start editing without needing my laptop.

No watermark. No ads. No limits. And you get tools like Enhance Audio, Auto Captions, music and 4K exports right from your phone. @adobelive

I edited this video entirely in Premiere on mobile.

If you’ve been waiting to edit on the go, give it a try.

September is Suicide Prevention Month.

I’ve battled depression for years. I’m still in therapy. I’m still on medication. And I’m still learning how to live with a mind that can sometimes become a very difficult place to be.

I’ve experienced suicidal thoughts. I’ve reached places where the pain felt so overwhelming that I genuinely believed there was no way out. I’ve attempted to end my life more than once.

For years, I questioned why I had been given so much suffering.

Why do some people seem to move through life so easily while others spend years fighting battles nobody can see?

I questioned my purpose. My existence. Sometimes, even God.

If life is a test, how much are we expected to endure? How long do we have to walk through darkness before we finally see the light?

I still don’t have all the answers.

But after my last attempt, something changed in me.

I began to understand that even when life feels unbearable, life itself is still incredibly precious.

The pain can change. Circumstances can change. Your mind can change.

But you don’t get another life to find out what tomorrow might have held.

I don’t want to romanticize suffering. Sometimes you need therapy. Sometimes medication. Sometimes a doctor, a friend, family, or simply someone willing to sit beside you while you fall apart.

And sometimes, faith is simply holding on when you don’t understand why you’re being asked to.

Maybe faith isn’t the absence of doubt.

Maybe it’s saying, “Oh God, I don’t understand why I’m hurting this much, but please help me make it through tonight.”

If you’re fighting a battle nobody knows about, please stay.

You don’t have to figure out your entire life today. Just make it through today.

Tell someone. Ask for help. Reach out.

Your darkest moment does not get to decide the rest of your story.

There may be days when you cannot see the light. That doesn’t mean the light isn’t there.

I’m still here.

Still healing. Still struggling sometimes. Still hoping. Still praying.

And after everything, I’m grateful I stayed.

Stay. Please. by @rizzaalee

What is a life without misery and suffering?

Does such a life even exist? And if it does, who gets to live it?

Why do some people seem to walk through life with only occasional storms, while others spend years fighting battles nobody else can see? How much suffering is a person supposed to endure before they are allowed a few peaceful days? How long does one have to keep walking through the darkness before there is finally some light?

We are told there is always light at the end of the tunnel. But what if the tunnel is longer than our lives? What if the light we keep believing in is only a story we tell ourselves because the alternative is too painful to accept?

And then comes the hardest question.

If we are all children of God, why do some of us suffer so deeply?

Is suffering a test? A lesson? A part of destiny that we simply cannot understand? And how much is enough? How long until the suffering ends?

When you’ve lived with pain for long enough, you don’t just question your circumstances. You start questioning yourself. Your existence. Your purpose. Sometimes, even God.

Not necessarily because you’ve stopped believing, but because you’re exhausted. Because you’ve prayed, waited, endured, and still find yourself standing in the same darkness, wondering how much more a human being can carry.

Maybe faith isn’t always having answers.

Maybe sometimes faith is sitting in the middle of all your unanswered questions, your anger, your fear and your doubt, and still whispering:

“Oh God, I don’t understand any of this. But I’m still here.”

We don’t know how long the night will last.

We don’t know when the light will come.

Maybe we never will.

But somehow, despite everything, we wake up. We breathe. We keep walking.

And perhaps, for now, that is hope. by @rizzaalee
