We’ve still got spaces available for our FREE Boys Camp this October! 🙌

A week of dance, theatre, creativity and fun, alongside other young people who share the same passion. 💥

⭐️ Arts Award Success ⭐️

Six Shahck Out Youth Dance members successfully completed their Silver Arts Award at RJC Dance, a recognised national Level 2 accreditation awarded by @trinitycollegelondon.

Over 4 months in the summer term, these dedicated young dancers immersed themselves in the world of dance, creativity and leadership, alongside and during their regular sessions. They visited the theatre and reflected on their experience, interviewed an exhibition curator at the University of Leeds and created their very own 'RJC Dance' magazine.

A huge well done to them for their hard work, creativity and dedication ⭐️

Silver Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification that celebrates young people’s creative development, equivalent to a GCSE level. It gives participants the opportunity to explore an art form, develop their skills, and share their creativity with others through weekly sessions, artist research, performance insight and and leadership.✨

#WorldAfroDay ✨

@worldafroday was launched in 2017 by British activist, entrepreneur and former TV producer Michelle De Leon to commemorate a 2016 UK parliamentary petition debate concerning the acceptance of Afro hair in schools.

The mission is to end hair discrimination through education and empowerment. It encourages self-acceptance, challenges restrictive beauty standards and promotes positive representations of kinky, coiled and curly hair globally ⭐️

Soca Style at @templenewsam! 💃🏽⭐️

Our Adult Community Class members brought the spirit of Carnival to Temple Newsam's Steps Through Time: A Day of Dance event. Dressed in vibrant Carnival costumes, they showcased an exciting routine choreographed by Nillanthie Morton, who also led a drop-in session for the public to participate. A massive thank you to the organisers for having us. We had so much fun! 🤩 by @rjcdance

🌟 Graduate Success: Nyomi 🌟

Nyomi has graduated from the NSCD CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) and completed her BTEC Extended Diploma at Leeds City College with a Distinction. She has successfully gained a place on the FDA Street & Hip Hop Vernacular dance course at ShockOut Arts in Manchester and has now officially started her training at ShockOut.

She said “I look forward to watching myself grow as a person and a dancer in creativity and in technique.”

Nyomi has been a member of RJC Dance for 12 years, since the age of 6. We can't wait to see her next successes! ✨

BOYZ CAMP 2026! 🔥

Looking for a fun, FREE October half-term activity?

Young males aged 9–17 are invited to join us for five energising days of dance, creativity and confidence-building at the Mandela Centre, Monday 26 – Friday 30 October 2026 from 1pm – 3pm daily.

Throughout the week, participants will:

➡️ Learn an exciting dance routine
➡️ Improve fitness, coordination and rhythm
➡️ Build confidence and teamwork skills
➡️ Make new friends
➡️ Work with experienced RJC Dance tutors
➡️ Perform for family and friends at the end of the week

No previous dance experience is needed.

A £10 cash attendance deposit is required at the start of the camp and will be returned at the end of the week, subject to 100% attendance.
